Our Field Trip to a
Local Pet Store

One morning we visited a local pet store.  This store had salt water aquariums filled with some of the animals we had been studying!  We saw sea anemonies, miniature clown fish, a snowflake moray eel and lots of other great creatures!
This was also the store where we bought our class fish and hermit crabs.  After touring the pet store, we chose two more types of fish to add to our tropical freshwater aquarium.  We then headed back to school to introduce our fish to their new home. We also took the time to record our observations and feelings in our science journals.

Meet some of our class fish. There are 10 in all, but these four were the only ones to swim past right as we snapped the picture.

In addition to fish, we saw reptiles and other animals. Here we all look at a chameleon.

These are goldfish in a large indoor pond.

Here a snowflake moray eel is being served a tasty fish dinner. The eel hid underneath the rock and only dashed out long enough to snatch the fish.
