Lorna
A tribute to my late wife Lorna, the only true love
I have had.
In the loneliness of my mind I think of you.
You are there to be my guide through the good times and the bad
You are always by my side.
I sit and think about you wondering where we went wrong;
To not have you with me is like a singer without a song.
I close my eyes and see you in the empty room I'm in,
And wish I wasn't a fool to give up on what might have been.
When we were together the world was full of love,
And you were my inspiration sent from heaven above.
We would laugh and we would cry; and I would wipe away the tear from your eye as I told you how much I love you.
But then that day came; when all about us our world did fall.
I was told very soon you would be with me no more.
I swore from that day I would not sway from my love and devotion to you.
Time went by and my heart gave a cry as you slipped into eternal sleep.
My heart is still strong, as i muddle along, and the years keep rolling by.
And till this day, I will never say that our love ever did die.
And when it's my turn, to you I will return, and love you as before.
But till that day, in my loneliness I stay and think of you all the time.
Thoughts of you still stay with me as time marches away,
While in my room I pray, to be with you soon and never to be apart.
For I have lost a treasure so rare, that can never be replaced.
To you kind reader, I say never fear.
There is love about, that you will find out,
and it may be one like mine.............
