| Welcome to the homepage for the Kaneohe Hammerheads of the Ultimate Progressive League. The team and league both came into existence in October 2006, at the sports simulation website www.WhatIfSports.com. The 24-team league is unique compared to other progressive leagues that focus on one or two specific years. The UPL started with every player in the history of the game's first season listed in WIS's database (1885-now). Players making their debut in 2006 were not included in the inaugural draft, but will be eligible for the season 2 draft. To be eligible for the WIS database a player must have 50 at bats or 25 innings pitched. |

| Once 24 owners were identified, a draft order was set, and a snake-style draft followed. Kaneohe found themselves near the bottom of the list drafting 21st in odd numbered rounds and 4th in even numbered rounds. The first few rounds read like a who's who of baseball history, with Hall of Fame names being selected with every pick. The Hammerheads play their home games in spacious Comerica Park, where homeruns are difficult to come by. The draft choices attempted to play to the ballpark's strengths. We won't be seeing a lot of balls soaring over the fences here in Kaneohe. But we expect to see a lot of hits with this lineup. |

| In season 5, Kaneohe moved into their new park - Chase Field. Management realized that the makeup of the team was changing, and the lineup would perform better in a less pitcher-friendly park. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| The Ultimate Progressive League Draft was the first draft league that I had ever participated in. It was a learning experience to say the least. Players that I thought would be available later in the draft went early, and I'm sure that there were a few I took at least 2 rounds before I had to. After the first two rounds were over, I had to change my approach slightly. We got the player we wanted in round 3, and another 7 picks later in round 4. At this point Kaneohe had drafted 3 hitters, all finished with career averages of .320 or better. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
