| Chapter 1 |
| Diamond sat in a black limo watching the beautiful scenery of Orlando, Florida. From the time she got on the plane and off she was pissed. She was raised to be a strong independent woman who stood by her beliefs and never have a man rule her, but her situation was different, kind of. Jamie Neil was her boss and he ruled her in her career aspect, but he was no longer apart of her personal life. He was once her boyfriend of four years and they had a child together. The breaking point for her was when she caught him having sex with another woman in their bed. She broke it off and ran to her best friend, Tia, but she struggled with whether or not to leave her job. She decided to be the bigger woman and be the mature one about the situation and get on with her life. Now here she was, stuck digging dirt on a damn pop star because he wanted her too. She didn't want the job plain and simple. She had better things to do besides being with egotistical pop stars. Taking care of Krystal was her responsibility. Before Diamond knew it, she was already at the 'Nsync compound. She was blown away by the size of the place and all the people running around like maniacs. The driver opened her door and she stepped into the bright sun, giving the driver a gracious smile. A medium height black man wearing a hat came out to greet her, which she figured was Johnny Wright. "Hello, you must be the new assistant, Michelle. My names Johnny Wright and I'm 'Nsync's manager. How was your flight?", he asked, shaking Diamonds hand. Giving him a bright smile she nodded her head, "It was wonderful Mr. Wright" watching as two bulky black men came to take her bags. Leading her into the compound, they settled in a comfortable lobby like room to discuss her job. "I just want to say, that I am very grateful that you're company chose me," said Diamond, trying so hard not to laugh right in his face. "Well, we're glad to have you aboard. I'm going to tell you, its going to be very hectic and have early morning duties. You think you can handle that?," asked Johnny. "Of course. I'm a morning person actually so it doesn't really effect me," said Diamond, pushing some of her hair over her shoulder. "Great! You are perfect for the job so far. I haven't found a flaw yet. I think we don't need to go any farther, its time for you to meet the boys," ecstatically spoke Johnny. Putting on a fake smile, she put on the best excited look she could. Leading her through a maze of hallways, she watched in amazement at all the platinum records hanged up of 'Nsync's albums. She could never understand how people like this sort of stuff. Sure she thought they had some talent, but not enough where she would actually praise them. The maze she went through led them to the backyard. It was beautiful and colorful. Flowers were blossoming, grass cut neat and nice, and the sun shine was giving it an breathtaking look. The guys loud voices were heard as they turned the corner. The scene in front of her made her laugh. JC and Justin was playing a little ball and the faces Justin was making gave her the giggles, but it was Joey, Lance, and Chris who sent them off the hardest. Chris and Joey were throwing acorns at Lance's head while he was on his cell phone. Johnny couldn't help but laugh with her. Clearing his throat, he stopped them in their tracks, but it was Diamond who got all their attention. All the stares she was receiving made her feel a little uncomfortable. Why are they staring at me like that? Do I have something on my face? Or is my clothes?, she questioned. Looking at herself, she felt she dressed appropriate enough for Orlando, but not for the office like she usually did. She wore a tight denim mini shirt, white tank with a white dress shirt and matching Nike sneakers. Seeing that the boys stares were making her feel uncomfortable, Johnny decided to speak. "Guys, this is your new assistant, Michelle Danes for the Pop Odyssey Tour," he introduced. JC shook himself out of his daze and introduced himself first with politeness, Chris, Lance, Joey, and Justin following his lead. Giving them warm smiles, she was quite shocked at how they seemed so down to earth. After their intro's, Johnny decided to leave them alone for them to get to know her a little. Joey, wanting to be slick and smooth started to flirt with her. "So, Ms. Danes, do you have a boyfriend anywhere?," Joey asked. A small smirk appeared on her face and she shook her head as the other groaned their disapprovals. "No, Mr. Fatone. There is no man in my life and you will not be one on them," laughed Diamond, getting a few snickers from the others. "Ok, that enough from you Joey. I'm sorry about that, he acts like that whenever an attractive woman appears in the room. So, where are you from? Have you been enjoying Orlando so far?," curiously asked Lance. "Aww...that's was sweet to say I'm attractive. I'm from New York and I've haven't been able to enjoy O-town yet because I just flew in. I'm actually staying at the compound with you guys that shocked me," smiled Diamond. "For real? You just got here? Well, don't worry about it because before this tour starts up, we will make sure you see every part of this town," spoke Justin, giving Diamond a wink that sent chills down her spine. "I can't wait. I really do want to explore this place since it will be my home for a while," she said. Chris came around and put his arm around her neck, which surprised her. "Correction. This will be your home forever and ever and ever and ever and ever-," JC's hand covered Chris's mouth, cutting his sentence of repeats off. "Ok Chris, I think we get what you're saying and I don't think you want to scare her off on the first meet," said JC, pushing Chris aside,"Anyway, I have a plan. We should get change and meet up with each other at 7 for dinner here and we can properly get to know you." Looking around, everyone either replied with "yeah", "ok", or shook their heads. "Ok, then its settled. It was a pleasure talking to you'll so far and I see everyone later," said Diamond, fixing her purse on her arm. A collective of "byes" were said as she made her way back to the office to meet up with Johnny. The walk left her to think about what just happened and that brought a genuine smile to her face. Was I really smiling unforcefully? God, I can't believe that I like this one bit. I really miss my baby, I have to call and tell Tia about this. They seemed pretty nice. I can already tell certain parts of their personalities. Chris is definitely the joker, Joey a flirt, Lance is sweet, JC is polite, and Justin...hmm...he's something. That smirk he gave me gave me the chills. Maybe something might happen between him and me? Ha ha ha ha, yeah right! Back Home Chapter 2 |
