Installing Trimaran from source
Finally , we can proceed with the actual installation. Create a
directory called "trimaran" in your home directory , and unpack the
downloaded source in this directory.
After this , we proceed with the actual installation. If all the
previous steps have been followed to the tee, then this should be the
easiest part! "cd" into the trimaran source directory, and execute the
following commands. Note: Its a good practice to read the README file
in source directories before mucking around with the
installation. |
[user@host
~/trimaran]$./install | tee -a install.log |
The installation will now
commence, with the entire log being stored in the "install.log" file.
It should take a reasonably long period of time for compilation. So, in
the meantime, a coffee would be an excellent idea.
If the installation has finished without displaying any error messages,
you are done! The software can be executed by running "trimaran-gui"
from the "bin" directory in the trimaran installation directory.
Note:In case installation hasn't been smooth, and
you've had mile-long
error messages, this would be a good opportunity to test your
problem-solving skills. Of course, if you are feeling lazy, mail the
trimaran users list or mail me your error messages.
