Work Day #1: RAKE (Remove All Krazy Evergreen-wastes)
Work Day 1: RAKE
With the Pre-work done from the first work day, my group and I were ready for harder and more important work: repairing graves and footstones. Many stones were toppled over, loose, or damaged, including the Baker family (who might be relatives of the original settlers of present-day Center Township), the Coleman family, the enormous Johnston family, Eathen Allen Craig (also known as just "Craig"), Baby Charles McKee, and various other minor stones to repair. The biggest challenge, though, was repairing the Johnston family, giants who fell apart in puzzle pieces (literally). Luckily, my job was made much easier since T.L. Ferguson, a landscaping company, graciously donated supplies. With limestone to level stones, cement to fix stones, and calking to "glue" stones, my work crew was ready. In addition, raking was to be completed today.
