Hey!  I had a great time at Kamp Kemperman '04.  I'm sorry if you had to miss it...but there will be more!
Memorial Day Weekend '04:
Rock Festival, huh!  Counselor John must have rocks in his head!  (And, BTW, the festival lasted far longer than just Memorial Day Weekend...LIKE 3 WEEKS LONGER!!!!!!)

But the end result was worth it, and the Kamp Grounds are looking spectacular.
Final Week Countdown Preparations:
Kamp Kemperman will be here in less than a week.  We are still receiving (and accepting) reservations.

Counselor John had had another brilliant (aka bone-head) idea.  Now, we are moving
SAND to the beach.  I know our Kampers will appreciate it.

Tammy's surgery is Wednesday, and we're still not sure if she and Chef Lloyd will make it to Kamp.  We are setting up an "Infirmary" just in case.

Friday:
OMG!!!!!  I never realized how big the Kamp Lodge was until today.  We try to keep our lodge tidy, but WHEW what a mess!.  Jr Counselor Eric and I worked on the inside, while Counselor John worked on the outside.  We worked ALL DAY and still have a bit more to do tomorrow.

Kampers Stan, Charlie, and Ralph stopped by for some Cider Stew in the evening.  (They were just "day Kampers" this year though.)
Click for the Cider Stew recipe.  Yummy!!!!

Saturday:
We finished tidying the lodge just in time for our first Kampers to arrive...Jarrod, Kylie, & Ethan.

Soon, everyone was here and the party had begun!  There was food & drink aplenty!  Counselor John arranged and piloted several cruises.

The Nature Tracking Activity was cancelled due to lack of participation on the part of the cats.  However, a lovely bat took up residence on the porch during the final day of Kamp Kemperman '04.

Not only did Artist Extraordinaire Dylan present his classic workshop and demonstration in Kamp Decorating, some anonymous kamper(s) were
so inspired that we were honored with 2 art installations when we woke Sunday morning.

Sunday:
Sunday started with a hearty breakfast...followed by naps (Saturday lasted WAY too long).

The NASCAR prizes during the race were a big hit!  Everyone who wore something to showcase his or her favorite driver won a little prize.  We handed out bumper stickers, window clings, shot glasses, cameras, key chains, antenna toppers, and clocks!

When Kamp finally broke later in the evening, we were left with a HUGE pile of things in the Lost & Found discovered while cleaning the lodge.

See ya next year!
Love is in the air at Kamp Kemperman!  I've got a crush on Counselor John!  Don't tell anyone!
