We went to Robbie!!!! Yeah, that's still going and his swing CD is great. I hear it more when I go shopping than at home! :) Recently I bought the soundtracks to my two (currently) favourite movies - Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Both these CD's are orchestral film scores which is a good thing in my books. I love the theme for Harry Potter and it's nice to have it on CD. The LOTR soundtrack is a little less repetitive and darker of course with the whole dramatic choral thing going on. Neither of these discs are ones to play in the background though. Right now I'm waiting for 'Nature's Best - top 30 Kiwi songs ever' to come out, sounds good.
I'm also a bit of a musicals fan. My favourite show has to be Les Miserables, Closely followed by Phantom of the Opera, Evita, JC Superstar, and Chess. I've seen most of them but not Chess, Miss Saigon or Starlight Express. ... one day... I've seen Rob Guest as both the Phantom and Jean Valjean. He's good. Philip Quast as Javert caught my attention too, he's the one on the video and the highlights CD. He's Australian. And of course Michael Ball. He is Marius - no-one else can do that role now. Micheal Crawford is great on the CD of Phantom but I don't like his later stuff. I saw him once when he came to Whitcoulls to sign his book - unfortunately that was before I started working there.

Now, how many of you remember the days of Napster? Well go to Kazaa.com and try that out. It's basically the same as Napster but it downloads in a slightly different way. I finally got what is at the moment my favourtie pice of classical music Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber. You'll probably recognise it. It's been so popular that it's been turned into a choral work and a techno dance track.
