OK. Here's the bit where I go on about Blackadder.
If you have a sense of humour and you haven't seen Blackadder, you are missing out. (However it appears that I was the only person who never saw it when it was originally screened.) The best of 80's British Comedy, it stars Rowan Atkinson in various incarnations of the scheming Edmund Blackadder. Tony Robinson is his servant Baldrick and there is a fabulous supporting cast of British comedians including Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Tim McInnerny and Miranda Richardson.
The series travels through different eras in English history from medieval court, the Elizabethan era, the Regency years through to WWI. There are 4 series - the last two are the best. There is also a 30 minute special Blackadder: Back and Forth that was played in the Millennuim Dome in 2000. |
