| OTERRO AND ZELENAS HELL, THE 3rd BIRTH They left her parents house after the birth of Bardock. She rode home in silence thinking of all she had seen. It was too much for her, and it scared her. Oterro felt bad for her and knew this was not settling well with her. She felt good as far as her pregnancy went; it was just the mental aspect that had her upset. They went to bed early and held each other tightly. She rested her head on his chest, and decided she wanted to tell him her decision on the name. She sat up, turned on the light beside the bed, and smiled down at her mate. Are you okay? It isnt time is it? He bolted out of bed waiting for her to start screaming in pain any minute. She giggled, and shook her head. No Goose. Its not time. I just wanted to tell you something. She whispered, and he eased back into the bed. His heart was beating ferociously as he panted from the sudden adrenalin rush. He lay on his side and propped his head in his hand, waiting for her to continue. Ive finally picked out a name. She smiled broadly and allowed the anticipation to build in him. Well dont keep me in suspense. Ive waited nine months for this. He laughed. Merra. She breathlessly whispered and she watched his eyes widen as he sat up. He bit his lip, fully not expecting the name to be his deceased mothers. He grabbed her into his arms and hugged her fiercely. She heard his heart thumping madly, and closed her eyes to savor the rhythm. He pulled her away from her and looked at her, to see if she was going to change her mind. Are you sure Zelena? He said shakily. She nodded frantically. You dont know how honored I am, not too mention that I am the luckiest man on earth for having such an incredible mate. She jumped back into his arms and held on for dear life. She would do anything for him, and the thrill of giving to him is indescribable. <><><><><> A couple of days later, he woke to the sound of his alarm and looked over to find the bed was empty. His heart quickened as he started to panic, thinking something terrible happened. Then he heard the hum of the vacuum cleaner, and he let out a relieved little laugh. After showering and getting ready for work, he headed downstairs to find his wife cleaning like a mad woman. She had been doing this for the past 24 hours, and he just laughed. He came up behind her and hugged her tightly. She turned around in his arms to hug him back. I just dont know why I feel the urge to clean and re-clean. But it just never feels done. She sighed, and he laughed. Whats so funny. She had no clue as to why she was doing this, it just felt right to her. If you would read those books beside our bed you would know why. Its called nesting. You are preparing for Merra. He smiled tenderly at her. She picked up one of those books once but accidentally opened it to the chapter about birthing, and she decided she didnt want to know anymore. Ive asked Bra and Goten to keep you company while Im at work. He braced himself for the tantrum she was going to throw. Oterro. Im not a baby. I can handle things. Why do you insist on irritating me about this? She growled angrily. Zelena please. What if you went into labor like Marron and had the baby instantly? You just dont know how that scared me. She was lucky it happened when and where it did. I cant take that risk. He said sternly. He wasnt going to back down, and knew she would relent. Its just for today, then Im off until after the baby comes. He changed his tone to a soother calming one. He cupped her face with his hands, bent over, and kissed her passionately. Have it your way. But can you take me over to their house? It would feel to much like they were babysitting me if they came here. She smiled, and he laughed. Wait right here. Dont leave me. She walked off to get ready. Never. He mumbled under his breath, and watched her elegantly ascend the staircase. She never got that big, so she wasnt encumbered by a big belly. He loved seeing his shirts on her, the way her pregnant stomach would poke at his shirt, and the preferred sweat pants fit her perfectly. She came back down, and he saw her pulling his college sweatshirt over his button down shirt. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, to keep it out of her face. Will you tie my tennis shoes? She asked with an innocent grin, as she sat down on the couch. He dutifully bent over and tied them for her. Then he helped her up, and she gazed up into his big blue eyes. Im ready. She grabbed his hand and they left the house. <><><><><> Hey Zelena what are you doing here? We were coming to see you today. Bra chirped as she saw Zelena getting out of the car. Oterro left it running but got out to give his wife a hug and kiss. I love you Zelena. He whispered in her ear. Then he bent down and kissed her stomach. I love you too Goose. She watched him get back into his car and pull away. She really wanted him to stay with her, and was disappointed to watch him go. She sighed and turned around to greet her cousin. I wanted to get out of the house. Where is Goten and Ategev? She said as Bra led her into the house. Zelena noticed that it was clean, but she got the urge to clean it herself. Goten is giving Ategev a bath right now. Bra answered, and saw Zelena looking around the house for something. Is there something your looking for? Zelena shrugged and went into the kitchen and nearly bounced off Vegetas chest. She looked up at him sheepishly and he growled. Oops. Sorry uncle Vegeta. She spotted some dirty dishes in the sink and decided to wash them. Zelena. What are you doing? Bra demanded. Im sorry Bra. I have to keep cleaning. Its driving me crazy. Oterro said its called nesting. I dont care what it is. I just have to keep doing something. Bra laughed and Vegeta shook his head as he walked out of the kitchen. Hurry up Goten. Vegeta roared to the back room. Ategev giggled and chatted in his 9-month-old way when he heard his grandfathers voice. Goten rolled his eyes and knew that was the end of their quality time. Ategev would start to get agitated if he didnt get to Vegeta soon enough. He took him out of the tub, dried him off, and put him in the days outfit. When Ategev saw his grandfather he leaned as far as he could and nearly fell out of Gotens arm in a desperate attempt to get to Vegeta. Vegeta humphed, took his grandson from Goten and headed outside where they could be alone. Vegeta talked in his normal tone to his grandson, about his life as a Saiyan and what that would mean to him. Ategev sat quietly not understanding a thing but loving the attention from his grandfather. Vegeta took a walk through the woods, and would return later. Hi Zelena. What are you doing? Goten said confused about why she is doing the dishes. Bra giggled the explanation, and he just nodded. After about an hour of her constantly cleaning they were able to get her to sit down. She fidgeted in her seat with nervousness. Goten felt bad for her and thought of a good idea. Do you guys want to go out or something? Her eyes brightened. Definitely. Im going to go crazy if we just sit here. Bra helped her up, and they prepared to leave. Goten went out to find Vegeta. He saw him lying on the hammock with his son, and he went over there to tell him that they would be gone for a little while. Im not staying here. Well be back at my house. He snorted, and allowed Goten to kiss his son before Vegeta flew off into the air with Ategev giggling at the sudden excitement. The three hopped into the car and headed to Gingertown. Zelena was quiet in the backseat as Goten and Bra carried on a conversation. Are you alright Zelena? Bra asked sensing sadness in the saiyan. I just miss Oterro. I wish he was here. She sighed and continued to stare out the window. This is his last day of work right? Goten asked. She nodded as she still stared at the world rushing past her. He had a mandatory meeting that he couldnt miss. If it lets out early hes going to leave. She said with hope. They decided to hang out at the shopping center, just to walk around. They had been there for hours and decided it was time to go. Zelena followed Goten and Bra down the escalator. Miss, are you alright? A strange man grabbed Zelenas arm to stable her. Goten and Bra turned around to see Zelena being supported by a stranger. Gotens first reaction was anger, he didnt know if this guy had done something or what. Then he saw the concern in the mans face and calmed down. He swept her up into his arms and rushed down the remaining flight. Bra was on his heels. I think its time Goten. She smiled up at him. People gave the three a wide birth as Goten and Bra ran through the doors. He piled her into the back seat and Bra got in beside her. Call Oterro. She said as she breathed calmly through a light labor pain. Bra grabbed her cell phone and dialed Capsule Corporation. <><><><><> Oterro kept looking at his watch, wishing the meeting would hurry up and end. He was anxious to get home to Zelena. A secretary crept into the room, scanned the table for Oterro and quickly went over to him. The meeting progressed as she went to tell him he had a phone call. They said it was important. She defended. He growled and pushed away from the table. There was a phone at the end of the conference room and he used that. He pushed the button that flashed and picked up the handset. Im on my way. He said briskly. Trunks and Linhe turned to see Oterro heading towards them. I have to leave. Zelena is in labor. He bolted out of the room and headed out of the building. Bulma adjourned the meeting until tomorrow, and the three of them took off after Oterro. <><><><><> The nurse wheeled her into a private room, and she waited for the doctor to check her. The labor pains started to increase in intensity and time. Oh Oterro where are you. She had a tear in her eye. Before it could fall down her face, he bolted in the door and rushed to her bedside. There you are goose. Im sorry I started without you. She let the tear spill down her cheek and he kissed it away. He held her hand, and she squeezed it through the contraction. Oterro this really hurts. She grimaced as another cramp seized her uterus. Im here Zelena-chan. Try and breathe through the pain. He instructed. Still in his suit, he sat by her side coaching and whispering to her. After a couple of hours the pain became too intense, and she had the urge to push. Oooooooooooo. I have to push. She screamed, as she started writhing in pain. The doctor walked in when she said that and he rushed over to check her. He sat down on his stool and measured the cervix. He felt her pushing against his hand. NO ZELENA. STOP PUSHING. YOURE NOT READY. He demanded. No, no, no. Ive got to get it out. It hurts. I have to get it out. She kept pushing. The doctor stood up and pushed the stool away from him. He unlatched the brakes and with the nurses help he started to roll Zelena out of the room. Nurse emergency Cesarean. Stat. He said as they rushed her to the OR. Zelena stop pushing or you will hurt the baby. He pleaded. Oterro was right by her side panicking knowing what was going on. Zelena groaned and screamed as she tried to push. Im sorry sir but you going to have to wait out here. The nurse instructed before they went through the double doors. He shook his head defiantly. Oterro dont leave me. She screamed through clenched teeth, as she was still pushing. Do what you have to, but Im not leaving her side. He growled ferociously. He was shaking at the thought of them taking her away from him. The doctor nodded to the nurse, for precious time was ticking and they didnt have time to argue. Dress him up. The doctor demanded. Oterro let out a breath of relief. He followed the nurse to get ready. The anesthesiologist quickly put a mask over Zelenas face and her eyes started to close as Oterro came through the doors. She heard him say he loved her, and the world went dark. He sat up by her head and stroked her hair while the doctor went to work. Is the baby alright. He asked not taking his eyes off of her. Weve got good vitals on the child. So I dont think he/she sustained any damage. The doctor said as he made the incision. Oterro put his head down next to hers and whispered to his unconscious wife. <><><><><> I demand to know what is going on. Raditz roared to a nurse. I will go back there in a second and find out, if you would just take a seat. She retorted. NO NOW! AND DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO. He thundered back at her. Her eyes widened and she quickly left the area. He paced frantically back and forth, sweat beaded up on his forehead. The nurse came back and didnt look happy at the news. Raditz jumped in front of her. There was a problem. They are doing an emergency Cesarean. That is all I know. I will notify you when I learn more. She quickly retreated to the back so she could monitor the progress and to get away from him. Linhes face paled, and she threw her hands up to her face. Bulma hugged her long time friend and guided her to a chair. Raditz was going crazy and picked up the speed of his pacing. <><><><><> Memories of time spent with Zelena came flooding into this mind. The first time he saw her, their first kiss, the time they first made love, and the honeymoon that created his child. His heart started to flutter and he felt the tears flow from his eyes. He has never felt fear like he has at that moment. And we have He held the baby at a position to see the sex. A little girl, with thick black hair. Oterro lifted his red eyes up to see his daughter being whisked away by a nurse who went to work on the child. She swaddled the baby, and handed her to her father. Oterros heart melted when he saw her beautiful little face. He held his child as the doctor finished sewing Zelena back up. He stood up when they got ready to wheel her back to the room. The nurse came over to take the baby from Oterro, and he growled at her. No. He demanded and followed behind his wife. They secured the bed, and did some routine checks on Zelena before they left the three alone. She will wake up in a little while. The doctor smiled at him, and Oterro nodded. Doctor! Thanks for keeping my life safe. He turned his attention back to his daughter when he heard the doctor leave. No sooner did the door close when Linhe and Raditz rushed in. Oterro reluctantly handed his daughter over to them, and they sat in the chairs cuddling with the newborn. Oterro stroked Zelenas forehead brushing loose strands of hair out of her face while she slept peacefully. After a while Zelena started to moan. She slowly opened her eyes, and saw Oterro staring at her with a warm smile on his face. She closed her eyes again, and fell back to sleep. He kissed her tenderly, and walked over to get his daughter. Shes incredible. Raditz whispered to Oterro as he handed her back. Oterro nodded in agreement and headed back to Zelenas bedside. Linhe and Raditz left them alone and headed back to the waiting room. Before Linhe left she turned back to Oterro. Oterro. When she wakes up give her this. Let her rest right now though. Linhe instructed, and she handed him a bean. He nodded and watched them leave. He stuck the bean in the hospital shirts pocket and waited for his wife to awaken. After several more hours of sleep she finally started to stir. She rubbed her eyes then opened them to see Oterro holding their daughter. Merra, look whos finally awake. He whispered. He brought her down low enough so Zelena could see. Tears filled her eyes when she saw her sleeping daughter. She tried to sit up and the pain seared through her, and she winced. He remembered the bean, and gave it to her. Zelena swallowed it down but it got stuck in her dry throat. Water. She rasped. He quickly handed her a cup of water, and she gulped it down gratefully. The bean took its affect immediately and she felt renewed and energetic. She sat up in the bed and he handed the baby to her. She laid Merra on her lap and proceeded to unswaddle her. She counted all ten fingers and toes, then checked to see if there was a tail. Oterros eyes widened when he saw the little fuzzy tail wrapped around her waist. Zelena smiled brightly. Do we have to get rid of it? She asked thoughtfully. I wish I had mine. She quickly covered the child back up and brought her up to her face, so she could inhale her daughters scent. She knew the answer to her question and she sighed. Her eyebrows furrowed and a sadness crept into them. Through blurred vision she looked up at her husband. I almost killed her. At the thought she shuddered and the tears streamed down her face. She suddenly didnt want to hold her daughter anymore afraid that she would somehow hurt her now. She handed her to Oterro, who was dumfounded. Its alright Zelena. Shes fine, and youre fine. You had a good doctor. He urged. He didnt like the way this was going, and he was afraid that she was going to reject Merra. She shook her head and ripped the I.V out of her hand then jumped out of bed. Im ready to go home. She said as she went to find her clothes. She grabbed them out of the little closet and disappeared into the bathroom. The nurse came in and looked at the empty bed. What the. Where did she go? The nurse looked mortified. Shes getting dressed. Oterro said sadly. He was still worried that the mother daughter relationship was going to be a rocky start. The nurse quickly disappeared to get the doctor. They came back in when Zelena came out of the bathroom. How are you able to You should be in bed. He instructed in disbelief. No thank you. Im ready to go home. She left the stunned people behind and Oterro slowly got up and made his way out the door behind her. Her family and friends were still in the waiting room when they saw her appear. Raditz and Linhe jumped up to give her a hug, and she hugged them back. Hi everyone. Im ready to go home. She said as matter of factly. Without so much as a goodbye she headed out of the hospital and took to the sky. They could not believe what just happened, the fact that she left her husband and child there at the hospital alone. Raditz decided to follow her to find out what was going on when Oterro slowly appeared into the waiting room. He looked mournful, and everyone became worried. Oterro what happened? Linhe said breathlessly. He shook his head, not taking his eyes off of Merra. Shes afraid of hurting Merra. Was all he could say. He sighed and turned to leave. Im going home now. He said as if he was in a trance. They followed him out to his car, and watched him put the newborn in the already prepared car seat. Itll be alright. Trunks offered. Well Im coming with you. Bra jumped into the front passenger seat before Oterro could protest. They watched the sad Oterro pull away. <><><><><> ZELENA. Yelled Raditz as he followed her into the house. She stopped but didnt turn around. Look at me child. He demanded, and she slowly turned around. He saw the pain in her eyes and his heart sank. I demand an explanation. She hugged herself tightly, and took in a deep breath of air. I almost killed Merra. Oterro would have never forgiven me, and I just couldnt live with that. I dont know my own strength anymore. Bah! That is ludicrous. He scolded. Having a baby is different for everyone. I dont know what happened. But I do know that you have a beautiful daughter who needs her mother right now, and a faithful mate who also needs you. So snap out of this despair and be the mother that youre supposed to be. She had sunk to her knees while he scolded her and he went over to her and kneeled in front of her. He lowered his voice and continued to try and get through to her. Zelena, youre not a little girl anymore. Merra is the little girl. You have to protect her, and nurture her the way Kami intended it to be. She looked up at him and knew he was right, she was just afraid. He smiled at her and took her into his arms. They heard the car pull up, and Raditz helped his daughter to stand up. Now go to them Zelena. Zelena wiped at her face, inhaled and exhaled a cleansing breath then headed out the door. Oterro got out of the car and stood there looking at her. Raditz went over to Bra and grabbed her; he leapt into the sky to leave them alone. She looked up at him and bit her lip. He stood where he was with his head held high. She flew at him and held him tightly to her, and he did the same. She cried in his chest and he stroked her hair. Can you ever forgive me. She sobbed. His breathing was heavy from the onset of emotions. Dont ever abandon us again. He whispered. Merra decided to announce her presence and she started to wail. Zelena pulled away from him, wiped her tears and opened the passenger door to get her daughter. With her free hand she unbuttoned her shirt as she headed towards the house, and he followed behind them. He pulled her to the couch with him, and she leaned back into his chest while Merra fed. Oterro closed his eyes, and breathed a quiet sigh of relief. Zelena really scared him today, and he was still trying to calm himself from the emotions that were kicked up. He opened his eyes and watched his wife and daughter with love. |
