| THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS, AND THE 2ND BIRTH They had gone home, and it was time for bed. She was propped up against the headboard reading a book, when he crept into bed beside her. �You know, Toma thinks you have it out for him.� He watched her to see if maybe he made mistake by bringing this up. She slowly set the book down on her lap and turned her gaze to him. �I haven�t the foggiest idea of what you�re talking about.� Yes she did, at the mere mention of her brother�s name she wanted to scream. �Your father said that your mother was very hormonal when she was pregnant with you.� He continued. �He said that your mother had it out for Goku. For some reason she just felt rage towards him.� �Are you trying to bait me Ot�� She stopped suddenly and thought of something. She saw that he had braced himself, but was then looking at her quizzically. �Oterro, I think I know what we�re having.� She said breathlessly. He chewed on his lip to think over what he said that would give her a clue. Then he figured it out; her mother and her were the same way when Linhe was pregnant with Zelena. Could it be that they only get this way when they carry girls? He asked himself. Then he realized that she was admitting to being hormonal, and decided he wasn�t going to pursue that issue. �We�re going to have a girl Oterro.� She was suddenly excited. She turned her body towards him, and smiled lovingly. �What do you think about that?� A smile spread across his face as he thought of his daughter with his wife�s features, then suddenly became concerned. �What�s the matter? You were smiling a second ago.� �I just thought of how she would look, which I hope she will look like you. But that would mean I would have to beat the guys off of her.� He groaned. �I have a hard enough time keeping them away from you, how am I going to handle two gorgeous women?� She smiled lovingly at him. �She will be half-Saiyan, I doubt you will have to work that hard.� He kissed her passionately, and held her tight. <><><><><> �I knew that is all you would wear when you started to show.� Marron chuckled, as she saw her sister-in-law approach wearing sweat pants and a big button down shirt. �Thank Kami for Men. Oterro has to buy new clothes so he has something to wear.� She laughed. �But don�t knock it until you try it. You won�t wear those foo foo things anymore.� They laughed. �Hey how�s Ategev.� She cooed to her little cousin. �This is the first time I have been able to pry him from my father. Those two are peas in a pod.� She laughed. �Poor Goten would like to spend time with his son sometime, but father only growls when Goten goes near him. Not to mention Goku and Chi-Chi rarely ever get to spend time with him.� The others laughed as they strolled down the shopping center. �So Marron. You feeling all fat and everything?� Bra decided to rub it in. They didn�t tease Zelena, because she was still small considering she was now six months along. The doctor said the baby is healthy and on schedule, so no one worried. �Pay back suck, don�t they?� �Yeah, and remind me never to tease you again.� Marron had gotten huge just like Bra did; only she seemed to be handling it a lot better. �You miss work Zelena?� Bra said turning her attention away from Marron. �I miss working with Oterro, but he and Trunks thought it was best that I wasn�t around all the hazardous areas.� She shrugged still not understanding that one. The other two passed private glances at each, for they new the real reason. Trunks was afraid Zelena would go hormonal and start tearing the place apart. �Speaking of Trunks, has anyone noticed how Pan has been lately?� Marron asked. �She�s not her usual kid self anymore.� �Goten told me her feelings for Trunks has changed dramatically. She no longer looks at him as her brother. If you know what I mean.� Bra just gave up some juicy gossip; the girls leaned in for more details. �Goten caught his niece doodling Trunks name. He asked her about it and she only yelled at him. So we believe our little Panny-chan has a crush on an older Trunks.� �But she�s only 13. Does Trunks know this?� Asked Zelena. �No, and we�re not going to tell him either.� Her eyes narrowed. �Trunks has never seen anyone seriously. It�s like he�s waiting for something. Who�s to say that somebody can�t be Pan when she grows up?� Zelena�s cell phone rang and she answered it. �Hi Oterro-chan. I miss you.� She answered. �I miss you too. To� um�Goten wants to know if we would like to go out to the pub with them tonight? They were going to go after work.� He was sweating at the near miss with Toma�s name. �Hold on.� She told him. �Are you guys going to the pub tonight when the guys get off work?� �Yeah are you going?� Marron asked. �Alright we�ll go. I�ll just meet you there?� She asked. �Do you want me to come pick you up?� He was surprised that she would meet him there. �No I will come in with the girls, and we will meet you guys there. Love you.� They hung up. �Father has already staked claim to Ategev. So we�re free to go out.� Bra giggled. They headed out of the shopping stores, and to the car. <><><><><> Marron dropped off Zelena then Bra, and agreed to pick them up in an hour. The girls were all busy getting ready, and Bra was preparing a bottle for her son. �Are you sure you will be alright?� She asked Vegeta. �Of course brat. He and I will be fine once you get out of our hair.� She snorted and put the bottle in the fridge. �Alright the milk is in the refrigerator. Heat it up and test it before you give it to him. Father please call me if you need anything.� She pleaded to him and waited for acknowledgement, even though Marron was outside beeping the horn. �Go on Bra-chan. I got your instructions. I will make sure your father knows what to do.� Bulma said lovingly. Bra kissed her son and managed to sneak in a quick one to her father and left before she heard the growl from him. <><><><><> The guys were already at the pub waiting for their mates. Oterro went up to the bar to get a drink for himself and water for Zelena. Some girl accidentally fell into him as he was waiting for the drinks. �Oh I�m so sorry. I tripped on that chair. Thanks for saving me.� She said breathlessly. She was gorgeous, with long blonde hair and big blue eyes. Her little dress revealed cleavage and long legs. He never noticed even when he helped her to a standing position. �My name is Missy. What�s yours?� �Oterro.� He said blandly. He knew what she was doing, and he wanted no part of it. He still didn�t pay attention to her. All he knew was that her hair was a lighter shade then his wife�s, for the mass was thrown in his face. He turned back to the bar, to try and dissuade her from further conversation. �Hi Oterro, it�s nice to meet you. Are you here with anyone, I mean it doesn�t appear that your wife is anywhere near.� She smiled at him. She knew he was married, but she didn�t care. �Usually gorgeous guys such as yourself typically do not frequent bars unless they are unhappily married.� �Well I guess you can say that I�m an exception, because my wife is about to come through that door any second now.� He grabbed his drinks and was about to leave when she stepped in front of him. He saw Zelena and his eyes brightened. He quickly maneuvered around the annoyance that was trying to block him, and he went over to their table. He set the drinks down then gave his mate a tight hug, and deep kiss. She waited until he found a seat, and sat on his lap like she always does. Missy watched all of this with disdain, and she turned to her giggling friends. �Oh shut-up, the nights not over. Besides she�s� fat.� She spat. She sat back up at the barstool glaring at the gorgeous Oterro waiting for him to give her a quick glance. He never lifted his eyes from his friends or Zelena. �I need to make a break, sweetheart.� She groaned in his ear. He kissed her on the lips before she got up. �That reminds me, I have to go to.� They got up and headed to the bathroom. Missy saw her chance and jumped off the barstool and waited in a dark corner until he would come out. Guys were always quicker then girls and this would give her enough time to pour on the charm and move in for the kill. She heard the door open and stepped into the little hallway. He moaned when he saw her there, and knew that trying to pass was going to be difficult. The hallway was very narrow, and to pass her they would have to go sideways and even then they would rub bodies. Sweat started to bead up on his forehead. �So we meet again Oterro.� She growled. At the mention of her husband�s name, Zelena quickly finished and she waited by the door to hear the conversation. �Look, I told you that I am very happily married. Therefore not interested.� He said softly. �So why don�t you back down the hallway and let me pass.� �Oh Oterro. I could give you pleasures beyond your wildest imagination. Besides your wife is so fat, how could she possibly make you happy.� She pouted. Zelena�s face flared and she threw the door open, which was behind the woman who was flirting with her husband. Oterro gasped when he saw her emerge, and the look on her face. At seeing his face, Missy turned around but didn�t back down. She thought the dark haired fat woman was no match for her. �I�m not fat you baka. I�m pregnant.� Zelena hissed venomously. �And that�s MY husband you are messing with.� �Humph, and you think you�re a match for me?� She growled back at Zelena. Zelena�s face went up into an evil smirk, and Oterro knew this was the end of the woman called Missy. Zelena grabbed the girl by her throat and held her up against a wall still smirking. �Why yes I do.� She spat. The girl tried to kick Zelena in the stomach, but Zelena was too quick and missed the attack. �That�s pitiful.� She dropped the girl on the floor then with a quick swoop she knocked the blonde unconscious. Zelena grabbed her husband�s hand and led him back to their table where she waited for him to sit down so she could resume her position. �Are you alright Zelena?� He whispered in her ear. �I saw her kick at your stomach.� �She never landed a blow. Please Oterro, I haven�t lost my Saiyan blood because I�m pregnant.� She looked sad. �Am I fat? She said I was fat.� He smiled tenderly at her. �No way. You look wonderful to me.� They kissed and held each other tightly. He rubbed her stomach feeling his daughter kick madly from her mother�s excitement, then settled down. He beamed with pride for mother and daughter. <><><><><> Marron and Toma had a house in Gingertown so they could be close to his Martial Arts school. She decided to hang out at his work with him, and they cuddled until his first class, which was due in ten minutes. She watched her husband teach his class, and was proud of him. He was so good at what he did and she felt safe with him. When the class was warming up she went over to him. �Toma, I�m going to go buy some water. Do you want anything?� He put his hands to her face and kissed her gently. �We have a water fountain.� �Ewww. You know how many germs are on that thing?� She said wrinkling her face for effect. He smiled at her. �No I�m fine thank you. Oh and Marron? Please be careful.� He said forking his eyebrows. She kissed him and he watched her disappear out of his school and into the aircar. Then he returned his attention to his class. About ten minutes later he heard fire trucks, and ambulances scream by. He walked to the window and looked out. He saw smoke billowing up into the sky, and he suddenly felt like the wind was knocked out of him. Without so much as a word he flew out of the school and took to the air, heading straight for the blazing store. A crowd formed around the building and he searched madly for his mate. He saw her car in the parking lot and knew she was here. He went over to the ambulances to see if she was a possible victim. His heart was racing madly as he continued the search. When he searched the crowd to no avail, he turned his gaze to the building. Without thinking, in a flash he entered the smoke and fire filled building. Breathing through his shirt, and squinting he searched for Marron. Water, she went for water. He told himself. He ran to the back where the water would be and he saw her lying under a fallen shelf. He screamed as he threw it off of her, and picked her up. He was out of there before the roof caved in. People started yelling when they saw him emerge with a wounded person in his arms, and the rescue team moved in to assist. They pulled him to where they wanted her, so they could began treatment. They noticed her swollen belly and started working feverously. He could still feel his child�s Ki, and Marron�s so he knew they were alive. But the Ki�s were weak. They covered her mouth to provide clean oxygen. She was unconscious as they checked her over, and Toma rubbed her soot-covered forehead, praying to Kami. �Sir are you her husband?� They asked urgently. He nodded. �Is she allergic to any medications?� He shook his head no. Now it was his turn to ask questions. �How bad is it?� They ignored him, and continued on with their work. �Let�s go.� The one medic yelled. They put Marron in the back of the ambulance, and Toma jumped up right behind them. �Sir you can�t�� They shut-up when they heard a growl, and saw the look. �Just stay out of our way.� The doors shut and the ambulance jolted forward. He didn�t want to leave her alone in the ER by herself but he had to make a phone call. He went to the threshold of her room and scanned the hallways for the nearest phone. He saw the nurse�s station and flew over to it. Without asking he grabbed a phone, and pushed a non-lit button. �Sir you can�t use this phone�� A nurse said urgently as he started dialing. �Shut-up.� He snarled, and the nurse backed away. �Capsule Corporation Labs.� He heard his mother say. �Mom, It�s Toma. I�m at the hospital; Marron has been hurt. Can she have a senzu bean?� He said quickly. �How�s the baby,� She asked urgently. �I still feel his Ki. But it�s weak.� They didn�t know what they were having he was assuming the child was a boy, so he could refer to the child as something other then it. �I�ll be right over.� She said and she hung up the phone. He slammed the phone down and bolted back into the room. They had Marron on a respirator, and he started to get highly upset. The doctor came in and looked at Marron�s eyes, then read her chart. �Are you the husband?� He said turning to Toma. �Yes. What�s going on?� He demanded. �She inhaled a substantial amount of smoke. Not too mention she took a nasty blow to the head. We have taken x-rays, and many blood tests. Right now we have no answers, as soon as we get the results back we will have a better idea of how she is.� �What about my baby?� He whispered, worried now that he didn�t mention his son. The doctor�s eyes furrowed. Toma felt himself go weak, and threw his hand against the wall for support. �I have to be honest. I have never seen an unborn child pull through something this severe.� He gently said, and he put his hand on Toma�s shoulder. �But I have seen miracles. If you�ve never prayed for one, now would be the time.� Toma slid to the floor, drew his knees up to his chest, and buried his face in the space between and tears flowed down his cheeks. Linhe bolted into the room and saw her son. She looked at Marron and felt both of the Ki�s. She bent down to her son. �Toma? I have the beans.� She whispered, and he lifted his head. �But before you do this, I have to tell you that I don�t know if this could harm or help the baby. My guess would be that it would help. But it�s a gamble son.� Just then the alarm went off and they both felt the little Ki start to dwindle. He grabbed the bean and mashed it in his hands. He grabbed a cup of water from the nearby sink and washed the bean down her throat, as doctors and nurses came running in. They started checking the monitors and Marron when she started to open her eyes. Both Linhe and Toma felt the little Ki flare back up, and they hugged each other in relief. He then looked at Marron and went to her side. He talked to her soothingly to try and calm her. Her eyes were wide with fright, and she pulled at the hose in her mouth. �Get this thing out of her.� Toma demanded. They jumped to action out of fear. �Hey you, everything is alright. How do you feel?� �Umm.� She said in a dry cracked voice. He gave her some water to sip, and the coolness felt good against her sore throat. In a raspy voice she continued. �What happened? Is he�� She put her hands to her stomach and felt movement. She closed her eyes and a tear fell out of the corner. �Thank Kami.� She whispered. He held her hands tightly to his mouth. �Do you want to go home?� She nodded. The nurses removed the i.v. and Toma picked her up and headed out of the room. His mother was hot on his heels. After exiting the building they took to the sky. As soon as they entered the house, the phone started ringing off the hook. He went to their bedroom while Linhe answered the phone. He gently laid her down, and crawled in next to her. �I don�t know what I would have done if I lost you Marron.� He said in a shaky voice. She gave him a half-smile. He put his hand on her stomach and rested his head on her chest. She stroked his wild black hair and kissed the top of his head as he whispered things to his unborn child. Linhe walked into the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed. Marron looked at her but Toma didn�t budge from his position. �That was your mother and father. They heard from Akira that something happened. They went to the hospital but found out that you guys had already left. I told them that everything was fine and you were resting. They said they would come by tomorrow.� She hugged Marron, and crushed her son�s head in the process. He didn�t care. He could hear both his mate and child�s heartbeat and that was all he cared about. Linhe kissed her son on the head then left. <><><><><> Marron�s due date was a few days away, and Toma was a nervous wreck. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and they went over to his mother and father�s for a surprise visit. Linhe was busy cooking, and Marron joined in to help. Raditz, Akira, and Toma were in the living room chatting about fighting. �It seems weird that we are all here and Zelena isn�t.� Akira said rather sadly. They used to have fun together. Raditz nodded and Toma humphed. �She still after you Toma?� Raditz asked. �Yes the spawn of Satan is still evil towards me. I can�t wait till she has that baby. I just hope this thing she has against me goes away when she gives birth.� He growled, and the others sighed. The door flew open and Zelena emerged with Oterro behind her. Raditz and Akira jumped up to greet her, and Toma took this opportunity to sneak upstairs before she could do something nasty to him. �What a surprise the entire family is here.� Linhe said as she came out of the kitchen. She hugged her daughter and Oterro. �I�m glad I�m making enough supper.� Marron was still in the kitchen when she felt her water break and the first labor pain rip through her abdomen. She dropped the dish that she was holding at the time, and it shattered into a million pieces. The group in the living room heard the crash and bolted for the kitchen. They saw Marron doubled over clutching her stomach. �TOMAAAAAAAA.� She screamed at the top of her lungs. He appeared in a flash and ignored the growl from his sister. �I�m having the baby.� She whimpered. He went over to her and swept her up. He headed for the door when she screamed again. �No Toma, I mean NOW.� He turned around and looked at Akira with pleading eyes. �Well don�t just stand there you baka get her in here.� He ordered. Toma followed Akira upstairs to their old room where they would deliver the baby. Akira started instructing the others of supplies he needed, and they scrambled to get them. He rolled up his sleeves and checked her to see how far dilated she was. �Do you feel like pushing Marron?� He asked gently. She nodded frantically. �Then push as hard as you can against my fingers.� Raditz and Oterro hung out down stairs in the living room pacing back and forth, and would stop when they heard screams. Marron was propped up against Linhe who helped her crunch up while she pushed. Toma was holding her hand while watching for his child. Zelena whispered calmly to Marron to try and provide comfort. �KAAAAAMMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, this hurts.� She yelled through clenched teeth. She pushed as hard as she could for ten seconds then rested. �Good job Marron, I see the top of the head. When you feel the urge p� � She started pushing again and the head started to crown. Toma was amazed, and ecstatic when he saw the tip of the head. Then he suddenly felt weak. �Again Marron.� He yelled. Her pushes were getting weak and he started to worry a little that she wasn�t going to be able to finish. This push managed to get the head out. �I need another big one Marron. Give me all you got.� He instructed and she screamed as she pushed with the last of her strength. Sweat soaked her hair, and Linhe wiped it away. The shoulders started to pop out and he reached in to assist. Marron stopped and fell back against Linhe panting for all she was worth. �I can�t do it anymore.� She sobbed. Toma regained himself and started whispering in her ear. �Marron you have to give me one more. Not hard this time, but a little one. Please Marron.� She nodded and propped herself up on her own and bore down. Toma and Zelena watched as the baby slid out the rest of the way. Toma was right to call the baby a he, for that is what he was. The baby started wailing, and Marron dropped back down in exhaustion. Akira laid the baby on her abdomen and siphoned any fluid out of his nose and mouth. Then he wiped him off and proceeded to cut the umbilical cord. �Toma do you want to do this?� Toma�s eyes widened and he took the scissors from his brother. In between the clamps he snipped mother and son loose from each other. Then turned his attention back to Marron and their son. Akira finished up with Marron and the baby before leaving. �Akira?� She hoarsely whispered. He turned around before leaving. �Thank you so much.� He smiled just like Toma, and disappeared out of the room. Zelena and Linhe cooed to the baby then left as well. Marron lay shaking in Toma�s arms as the baby slept on her chest. �I love you Toma.� �And I love you Marron.� He looked at her pale face and felt the rush of love fill his heart. Raditz couldn�t stand it anymore and he went upstairs to see his grandson. He lingered in the doorway, and waited for an invite. �Don�t you want to see him?� Asked Marron, as she stifled a laugh at the big oaf standing nervously in the doorway. �Bardock. Meet your grandfather.� She said proudly and Raditz was shocked at the mention of his father�s name. He looked at the sleeping child and smiled. She handed him to Raditz, and he confidently held his grandchild. He then disappeared out of the room with the baby. Toma was about to go after him when Marron grabbed his arm. �He�s alright. Let your father have his moment.� She whispered, and snuggled closer to Toma. Raditz stepped into his room so he could have Bardock all to himself and he sat in the rocking chair and gently rocked the child in his arms. Linhe came in and sat on the edge of the bed watching them together. She started to cry tears of happiness. He looked at her quizzically. �Are you alright princess?� He whispered so he wouldn�t wake the baby. �My family is coming complete. He is so beautiful.� She said in between sobs. He got up and sat beside his mate to provide close comfort. She looked at the child in his arms through the haze in her eyes and smiled brightly. Downstairs Oterro held Zelena close, and Akira sat in a chair opposite them. �What did you think Zelena?� Akira asked. He had seen the miracle of birth, and it still amazed him. He was proud that he actually got to deliver one himself, and the feeling was wonderful to him. �I think that I don�t want to do this.� She said seriously. Watching the birth made her ache in pain. She hated pain. Oterro held her tighter. �And no offense, but I really don�t want you to deliver her either. That�s a little too weird for me.� �I don�t think you have an option Zelena-chan, and none taken I completely understand.� Akira said gently so not to upset her. Juuhachi-gou and Krillin came into the house. They rushed over after Raditz called them with the news. �They�re upstairs.� Akira said knowing that�s what they came for. He watched them fly up there. Marron�s eyes brightened when she saw her parents. They didn�t see the baby and they started to panic. Then they heard crying from the other room, and sighed with relief. Raditz brought the baby back to his mother. Marron took her child and pulled the cover over her so she could nurse. Her parents and Toma�s parents left the room until she was finished. Toma pulled the cover down so he could watch. He stroked his son�s now dried hair and smiled as he heard the sucking sounds. �What does that feel like?� He asked. She shrugged. �It doesn�t hurt if that�s what you mean.� With her free hand she pulled his nipple tenderly. �That�s what it feels like.� He laughed. Bardock finished eating and fell back to sleep. Toma got up so he can tell them to come back in. Then he went back to his position of snuggling with Marron. Juuhachi-gou held her grandchild and smiled. Krillin stroked the baby�s head and he smiled with pride. He was elated that his grandchild had Saiyan blood coursing through his veins. He always admired the Saiyan race. Goku was his best friend after all, and he just couldn�t believe that a descendant of his was mixed with his long time admired race. |
