| "The tournament will start next week." Piccolo said. "It will be held in Gingertown. You need to go there in time to sign in." "We will go tomorrow!" Zhen said enthusiastically. "If that's okay, Piccolo?" "That's fine. You should go eat and rest then, so you can be ready for the trip." Zhen, Rhea, and Monroe did just that, for the trip ahead of them. The next morning they all packed a few supplies for their travel. Piccolo went up to Monroe. "Monroe, come with me." Monroe followed Piccolo. "It's not my custom to do this, Monroe, so this is tough for me," Piccolo began. "I want to apologize for that time I blew up on you. It's just like I said, I hate to see someone waste their potential." Monroe nodded in understanding. "No problem, Master. I've already forgot about it." They walked back toward the others. "Well, guys, I'm proud of you all," Piccolo said. "You have all worked hard and have achieved a higher level. Go and do well." The three bowed toward their master respectfully and flew away. They arrived in Gingertown the next day. The tournament was to be held in the temple in the town square. When they got there they saw many martial artist of different races and sizes. "Look at all these people!" Rhea exclaimed. "All here to compete!" "I guess it's going to be tougher than I thought." Monroe pointed out. "Hey, no worries," Zhen said. "Piccolo said we will do fine." "HEY YOU!!" a thundering voice cried out. The trio turned to where the voice came from. Zhen and Monroe moaned when they saw who it was. "Oh shit." Monroe said. Rhea was confused. Bork, the Cyclops Zhen and Monroe defeated a while back, came walking towards them. "Well, what do you know? If it isn't the two forest faggots." He pointed to Monroe. "Monroe, right? And you're Zhen?" "Good memory," Monroe said. "I guess you do have a brain." The two guys laughed. "Oh, yes, I do remember. How could I forget you two? You've been my training inspiration. I've been wanting to tear you both apart ever since our last battle." Bork looked passed the two male fighters to see the beautiful blonde behind them. "My, my, who's the babe?" Rhea moved uneasily as she saw the lustful eyes of the ugly Cyclops. Zhen caught this and spoke up, "She's a friend, so you better not try anything if you don't me to mess with." "Tempting as that is, I'll rather save it for the arena. And Kami knows I won't hold back there." With that Bork walked back, leaving the trio alone. "Who was that?" Rhea asked. "That was Bork, some jerk we defeated a while ago." Zhen said. "Don't worry about him. We can handle him if he tries anything." They walked on towards the sign-in booth and afterwards went to their respective rooms. That night all fighters were going to the yard in the middle of the temple to meet the Grandmaster that was holding the tournament, so the three warriors started getting ready. When Zhen was done, he bumped into another fighter as he exited his room. "Excuse me." Zhen said. "Oh, don't worry." the fighter said. He was a man with short black spikey hair, not much taller than Zhen, probably just 5'9", but was really bulked up. He was well in his forties, but looked really strong for his age. "It was my fault." "My name is Zhen." Zhen extended a hand toward the stranger. "Hi, Zhen. I'm Goten." They shook hands. Something sparked in Zhen's mind. He heard that name before. "Goten, I know who you are. You're the great Goku's son!" "How do you know my father?" Goten asked. "It's a long story. My first master, Sakoo, told me about him." "Sakoo. Yes, I know him. He used to train with Piccolo." Goten remarked. "That's right. As did I not too long ago." Goten's eyebrows raised. "You trained with Piccolo?" "For 6 long months. And not only me, but also my friends Monroe and Rhea." Goten thought about this. "That's interesting. He hasn't been training anyone for years. I'm glad he got back to it. He is a very good teacher." All this time while they talked, Zhen didn't notice the taller, black man behind Goten, standing quietly. "Is he with you, Goten?" Zhen asked refering to him. "Oh, forgive me, yes, Zhen, this is my student, Solen." Solen bowed. "Nice to meet you, Zhen." He said in a deep voice. "Nice to meet you." He bowed also. Solen was about 6 feet tall, big built. He had long dreadlocks and a goatie. He wore a sleeveless shirt showing his muscles. He was completely in black. He was older than Zhen, older than Monroe actually, probably 25. "Are you guys going to the yard right now?" Zhen asked. "Yes, actually." Goten replied. "Let's go then." Zhen said. |
