| 5 months later Time past and the three young warriors still train. They have become stronger. They haven't heard of Marron either ever since the battle. Zhen was now 17, Rhea, 19, and Monroe, 21. Life was quite normal. For the moment. "Okay, attack!" Piccolo commanded, on another day of training. All three obeyed. Each of attacked at their master here and there, trying to get in a hit. Piccolo managed to avoid them for a few moments, but was kicked in the gut by Monroe, a three-punch combo in the face by Rhea and finished off by a sidekick in the chest. Piccolo fell back exhausted. The trio stood in their fight stances. After a minute, Piccolo stood up, smiling. "Very good, very good. You all have become stronger. But will each of you be able to beat me on your own." Rhea faced Piccolo first. She started off with a roundhouse kick, which Piccolo blocked, but left his arm numb. She pressed on. Piccolo threw a punch, but Rhea caught it and countered with uppercut, roundhouse kick and spinning back kick combination. Piccolo flew back and crashed into a nearby hill. Piccolo got up. "Next," was all he said. Monroe went next. Piccolo flew up, Monroe following. They charged at each other. Soon, Monroe drove a knee to Piccolo's stomach and an elbow to his back, which sent Piccolo down to the ground. Piccolo got up again. "One more." This time Piccolo made the first move. He attacked Zhen with a spinning kick. Zhen caught Piccolo's leg and smashed his elbow to his thigh. He then swung Piccolo toward to air, flew around Piccolo and received him with a punch that sent him back toward the ground like before. Piccolo took longer to get up this time. "I'm proud of you guys," he finally said. "You have all surpassed me in all areas. I have nothing left to teach you." Zhen, Monroe, and Rhea smiled at their accomplishment. "Thank you, master," they said. In the distance, Piccolo saw someone coming. It was Popo. "Welcome, Popo. How did you find this place?" "Well, it was kind of easy when all these powerlevels are flaring up." he answered. "Hey, Mr. Popo." Rhea called. Zhen and Monroe followed. "What brings you here?" "I have some news for all of you. A messenger came today and gave me this." He handed Piccolo a scroll. Piccolo opened it. "What is it, Piccolo?" Zhen asked. "It's in invitation to the Tenka'ichi-Budokai. It's inviting all martial artists to compete." "And that's not all," Popo added. "The prize is a Dragonball." The young students mouth opened. "How did the get a hold of a Dragonball?" Monroe asked. "The day of the battle, when I shot a beam to Marron, one of the Dragonball fell to the Earth. I guess it fell to the hands of the sponsors of the tournament." "You think were ready, Piccolo?" Zhen asked. Piccolo smirked. "I think you guys can handle it." "Awesome," Monroe celebrated. "This is what we always wanted, Zhenny. We are competing in the Tenka'ichi-Budokai!" |
