This wonderful house used to belong to the family of one of Kees' uncles. They sold it some time in the 1920's or so because it was too expensive to maintain. |

Yes, I had to get a closer shot-- but this doesn't begin to show all the wonderful detail. I'm told that it has high ceilings and is furnished with marble and many other luxurious touches. |
I thought these stairs were rather unique. I was surprised-- and amused-- to find that several cities have these "stairways to nowhere." The stairs aren't the only pieces of art I've noticed in duplicate... |

... but I haven't found this piece's twin yet. The flowers appear to be part of the art-- they've been planted in a shape similar to that of the sculpture. The building in the background is the high school from which Kees graduated. |
