John's Crazy Bio

Well, hello. I'm guessing you might finally want to know about bit about your author, huh? Well, I've decided to grant your request. After all, I've had this page for at least two years, updated it four times that, and probably received a half dozen emails pertaining to material on this page (and long since removed as well.) Well, seeing as how I'm a charitable individual and I have a good deal of time on my hands at the present moment, I'm going to paint a brief, technicolor portrait of this particular webmaster (for all twelve of you visiters.)

First off, I'm an American, though I'd wager I have about 50% or more German blood running through my veins. It wasn't but four or five generations ago when our ancestors crossed the Atlantic. There's also some Irish in there too, and something else, I'm sure, but anyway... I'm also pasty white from staying inside all the time. If you fashion around that white blob a parted tangle of straight brown hair, an oval-shaped pair of dark thin-rimmed glasses, a budding mustache and gotee, and some sort of commercial movie/anime-inspired T-shirt and jeans combo, you'll have a good mental impression of me. For communicative purposes, also tag a large glowing neon sign to my back reading, "Nerd = Social reject."

Nah, I'm not really a social reject, but I sure feel that way a lot. I've never socialized much throughout my entire life, barring chatting with the collective few who somehow understand my interests... yet even they do not comprehend or appreciate them to the extent that I do. My passions run deeper than blood, and not a great deal of people can deal with my long attention span concerning interests, projects, and the like. Much less women, apparently. *sigh* Only dated one girl during the summer of 2000, and that lasted about 3 months. She and I parted on very good terms, though, and we still chat and get together for assorted group extravaganzas. However, not a lot of other girls seem to be interested in me; my ineptness in big social conversation and my shyness with idly chatting in person given the possibility of romantic commitment seems to have estranged me from a good number of fine prospects. I've been told that I intimidated a number of girls, making me somewhat unapproachable. This fact is unverified, but it sure explains a lot. Doesn't make me feel any better, though...

My passions, you might ask? Well, if you aren't swamped by the range, you would be provided you got within earshot and incitied that topic in conversation. Well, I've always been partial to Star Wars as a form of entertainment. It's my favorite movie trilogy, and while "Phantom Menace" did not live up to the pace and appeal of the first three, the movie was still quite good, and the visual graphics were awesome. The novel series is exquisite, and I own eighteen novels, plus a hardback technical guide to the Star Wars universe. Five SW posters surround my PC, and I also own all the soundtracks... bringing you to my next interest. I'm a big fan of instrumental music, so far as enjoying it above all vocal songs. Movie soundtracks are a personal fave, and my man of choice is John Williams for his work on the Star Wars movies, Jurassic Park, the Indiana Jones trilogy, Hook, an a massive number of other works. I also enjoy a large number of videogame and anime soundtracks as well; I own a few, actually. And my other music interests delve into assorted Oldies Rock songs, the Beatles, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Chicago, and a couple of promising pop songs. Next, as I mentioned before, I like videogame soundtracks, partly because I also like videogames. My gaming system of choice has always been Nintendo, even with the onset of the Playstation and the PS2. The Gamecube, though I don't own this fine piece of equipment, rocks, and Super Smash Brothers Melee is kick ass. I've always been intrigued by the awesome playability of Nintendo's games, as well as the repeat quality of playing through more than once. My game company of choice is Squaresoft, and I *LOVE* RPGs. As such, I enjoy Playstation mostly because of the Squaresoft games played on the system. Some of my favorites include "Final Fantasy VI (III US)," "Final Fantasy VII," "Chrono Cross," "Secret of Mana," and "Tales of Destiny." It's been a while since I've played, though, with the exception of "Starcraft." Now there's a PC game of choice, let me tell you. I love it. But to move onward... the last major interest I'll reveal to you is anime. I got interested about two years ago on Neon Genesis Evangelion, and I've been riveted ever since. NGE has since remained my personal favorite, although other high-ranking series include Cowboy Bebop, The Slayers, and Ranma . I'm still a relatively green fanboy, but I'm learning quickly, and always trying to expand my horizons to indulge upon more and more series. My next lark will be Love Hina, of which I've ordered the first DVD. You'll probably see a report on my new blog page before too long about any of these series, or any of the above, depending upon my mood.

Other info... Well, I'm currently 20 years old, one year shy of being 'legal.' Believe me, it's hard to wait, since I try to uphold national laws and my religious principles as much as I can; after all, if I can't believe in anything, I can't believe in myself either. I've been a devout Catholic my entire life, and while I don't actively try to demean other religions or pull individuals into the faith, I am rather strong in my own beliefs and will not waver readily to criticism and jeering. Despite that, I am quite open-minded about faith, since persons of many beliefs can all be good individuals, regardless of their religious differences. I'll make friends with anyone who suits my fancy, be they Christian, Hindu (though I don't know any, I think), or Athiest. I try to lead by example, not by lecture. I will say, however, that my soulmate will probably be Catholic or should convert, since I will not marry outside the faith.

Ah yes, my future. The only solid point among the myrad of possibilites is that... I want to be married. I want someone with whom I can share my home, the personal relm hidden from the cruel reality of the world. Someone with whom I can share my bed, reciprocating my feelings of warmth, tenderness, security, and love. Someone who could help me prepare a large breakfast on some lazy Saturday midmorning, before tearing from our abode towards an undisclosed adventure -- be it a furious tennis or bowling match, a rigorous hike through a wondrous and breathtaking mountainous territory, a ten-hour anime/movie marathon, a howling good time at the nearest possible theme park, or simply a relaxing picnic upon a nearby hilltop. I wish for someone to share my joy through kisses and gentle caresses, share my passion through a vivacious outlook on the joys and wonders of life, and share my sorrow though a soft word, a reassuring touch, and the iron will to reinforce my failing hopes and aspirations. I could continue for a time upon this topic, now that I've delved into myself a bit, but I don't want to fill this simple bio with a good deal of personal ideas and desires. That's for the blog. At any rate, in my future, I can see myself married and with a number of children, long down the road. However, the other facets -- my job, my home, my daily life -- are all a spiraling vortex of confusion, dreams, and possibilities. I know not my career direction, nor my current financial and economically political goals in life; I just know what I'm good at, where I am now, and what direction I want to be taking. Well, knowing your position can be a good start, at least...

My hobbies? Well, nixing the earlier interests, I enjoy playing the piano and my trombone a good deal. The most wonderful experiences I remember from high school include my time in the marching band. It felt good to be contributing to something so large and wonderful, and that combined with my theme of intrumental music simply got to my head every time we manned the field. I like to write every once in a while (hence my own fanfic page), and I can be a capable artist should the desire and time arise. Math, big big fun. I love math, especially the higher levels of calculus. Interest might have stemmed by my wonderful instructor at ASMS (in Arkansas), but still, I've always excelled in logical concepts and whatnot. I'm currently taking differential equations, a course I've already had in high school, so this semester should be a piece of cake.

Misc facts... I'm 6' tall, my blood type is O+, and my current weight is around 185 pounds. Oh, and part of the reasoning behind the development of this page and the blog stems from a couple of my friends, Matt Titus and Linda Shen. Visit their pages and chat with them, if you feel the desire.

Well, that's about it. Now you know a bit about me. Given some time and a little creative care, I might add a few pictures here, as well as a decent title. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the site!
