RULES AND REGULATIONS Dancer registration and class placement will be assigned by the instructor on the first day of class which be held on September 2002 at 6:00 pm.
PRACTICE TIME: JUNIOR DANCERS Tuesday,
6:15pm-7:15pm ATTENDANCE: Practices will be held weekly on Tuesday evenings at the times listed above. Dancers must be present and prepared to begin dancing at their specified practice time. If any changes in practices occur, all dancers will be notified by the instructor or a phoning committee (to be established). All classes prior to a performance will be mandatory. Dance positions may change as a result of too many inexcusable absences. DRESS CODE: All dancers must adhere to the following dress code during all practices, where they have a choice of wearing the following: shorts No jeans, running shoes or healed shoes will be permitted during practices. Dancers will be given one verbal warning and subsequently will not be permitted to attend unless dress code is followed. For performances, no jewelry or nail polish will be allowed. All long hair must be French braided and tied back. Students should dress respectfully in their casual attire for all performances (prior to changing into their costumes) bearing in mind that they are representing the KALYNA school. |
| RESPONSIBILITIES:
Students are expected to behave in a manner that is conductive to the well being of the school in all environments. Disruptive behavior during practices and/or performances will not be tolerated. It is the responsibilities of each member and parent to ensure that all students attend all classes and performances punctually and regularly. All dancers should portray a positive image of the group and its members. REGISTRATION FEES: There will be an annual registration fee of $ 50.00 per dancer or $ 80.00 per family to cover administrative expenses. In addition, other expenses for costumes or cleaning of costumes may apply. THREE STEPS OF SUCCESSFUL TEACHING:
2. To know that students respect and like the teaching stuff as they do their friends. 3. Have the students learn the steps of Ukrainian dance and understand the background of the Ukrainian culture. BASIC CLASS STRUCTURE: First 15 minutes will be spent on warm up exercises. This will be a structured warm up and will work on all necessary muscle groups. Next 15 minutes will be spent on step work and routines. These will be incorporated into the dance that the students will learn. Remainder of class is spent on learning new material and time is used for practice and perfecting of exiting dances. |
