Rules and Regulations
- Gold dragons will only look to women; bronze dragons will only look to men.
- No one on Pern is psychic. Beyond a dragonrider's ability to hear their life mate (or in instances when a dragon who deems you worthy enough to speak to), that's all the extrasensory powers anyone will have.
(KW note: Hearing All Dragons is a rare ability. If you would like your persona to Hear All Dragons you need to write a solid background for the trait as well as an essay on why you and your persona deserve this quality and how you intend to handle it. You also need someone to vouch for you and tell the BoD if your responsible. If your persona Hears All Dragons, your persona will not Impress a gold dragon. Queen riders who Hear All Dragons are Anne's territory. Anyone who writes a character who Hears All Dragons will be ineligible to ever Impress a gold dragonet. Currently there are no personas who Hears All Dragons. IMPORTANT: The BoD has the right to take this ability away from you, if we feel that you are neglecting this ability!)

Any rules that are broken are grounds for immediate dismissal. If you feel that you were wrongly dismissed please email the BoD with your appeal.
- Goldriders - heterasexual females only
Bronzeriders - heterasexual males only
Brownriders - heterasexual males; rare bisexual males
Blueriders - homosexual and bisexual males; masculine bisexual and homosexual females
Greenriders - straight, homosexual and bisexual females; straight males; feminine homosexual/bisexual males - Color Wars, meaning bronzes think they're above browns, will absolutely NOT be TOLERATED! This holds true for all dragons. Also, there will be NO FIGHTING what so ever between dragons. If a dragon doesn't like another dragon they will ignore that other dragon. The only cases this will happen is by flights gone wrong. This will have to be approved by the BoD first.
- This Weyr is Rated PG-14 so it will have some mature topics. Obscenities, violence, and sex are allowable, but PLEASE keep it reasonable. Obscenities are allowable, but you can not use any Terran obscenities. If you don't know the Pern Obscenities please click HERE. Violence - if there is going to be a lot of violence, please put an OOC note at the top warning us of it. Sex - Just fade to black
- Major Plots are allowed but you first need to get permission from the BoD. Also, if they upset the balance of the weyr, hall, or hold then they will not be permitted.
- Timing is prohibited. It causes too much trouble and your characters could die. Also, think of the risks of losing your character because you met yourself while timing.
- Firelizards not have been around Kalarak for many years so they are not widely available. Golds will be given to those who deserve them. There will only be a limit of 2 golds a Weyr. Also, with green clutches, those rarely hatch but if you would like a green clutch hatching please notify the BoD and ask their permission first. All other colors are available though.
- PLease let us know if you have to go on a LOA. This will keep your coposters from wondering why you are not replying to their posts. If it happens that you have to leave before you can let us know, please send a message ASAP so that we can keep note of it. Also, if you are inactive for one month (unless it is a good reason) your character will be put up for adoption or killed off. Rankers will be put back up for adoption.
- If we find a mistake or a little detail in your persona that doesn't fit, we have the right to ask you to change it even after approval. This includes anyone, because no one is perfect and there is bound to be mistakes one person missed. Also, the BoD won't accept any half-filled out persona sheets. Either fill it all the way out or it just won't be accepted.
- Remember this rule! Before you start playing a character, your character MUST be approved by the BoD.
- Writing Requirements. These are mandatory requirements which must be filled to keep the Weyr active. If for some reason you are going away, please notify the BoD of your absence. Also, if it is going to be a long LOA please tell us why you are leaving.
- The BoD has the right to add any rules that we fill will make Kalarak better. So please just follow these rules and everyone will be happy.
Here are just some rules that have to do with your posts which are sent out to the list. These must be followed.
- As it has been mentioned before, posts are to be at least 5K (one page length) for requirements. This length does NOT include signatures, which can become fairly lengthy!
- All posts must have the following at the top:

- All posts must end with a signature from the writer(s). You can be creative with these, what you must have in the signature is the following:
Writers Name & E-mail
Persona's Name, Rank & their Location
Also you can have the Persona's pets or anything else
Who: (The personas in the post that have dialogue or action)
Mentioned: (Necessary only if your post mentions another persona)
What: (A brief explanation of what happened in the post; should be a full sentence)
Where: (Where the post takes place)
When: (Here you put the current RP month and day)
Notes: (Anything else you want to add, co-post requests even)
Co-posts are posts which are written by yourself and someone else. You write back and forth, through your own e-mail. And when the post is done you send it to the list. When writing a co-post there are a few things that you have to keep in mind:
- You can only write for your own persona, you can't control other Member's Personas. That is why it is called a co-post, you work together to create an interesting story that other Members will enjoy.
- If you are in the middle of a co-post and have to go on either a LOA or LIA, please tell your fellow co-posters so they aren't left hanging.
- Ask kindly for co-posters, don't demand.
- Have fun, don't be rude to someone if they turn down a co-post. Just shrug it off and ask someone else.
