About
NCR FA
The NCR FA organizes and provides technical guidance to numerous
football cups and tournaments held within the National Capital
Region.
Besides creating and executing ideas of how to move football
forward in NCR and the Philippines, events wise for the FA,
the NCR FA also has to find sponsors to take care of its programs.
Provincial Football Associations (PFAs) like the NCR FA don't
get any subsidy from PFF for any of the FA programs or staff
maintaintenance. It's not easy looking for sponsors, as people
in the Philippines prefer basketball and so do the sponsors.
Still, NCR FA has had great success thanks to Adidas Philippines
who helped last year with the first ever Futsal League which
attracted 10 each teams for the 1st and 2nd divisions for
men and 10 likewise for women, to Cebuana Lhuillier for the
BOFA-Boys Football League for the youth last year, and to
the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) for their continuing
support and guidance.
The NCR FA now has as many as 40 referees, 2 FIFA Referees,
2 Assistant FIFA Referees, 1 Assistant FIFA Women's Referee
and 1 FIFA Futsal Referee in the line up. Ateneo, UST, ASCOM,
Nomads, Ultra and Rizal Memorial are the pitches here but
not to a good playing standard. In terms of teams, there are
a lot (both men and women) that are eager to join competitions;
as an example for futsal, there might be a need to start a
3rd division to accommodate more teams, specially for the
women's division which attracts more spectators. Today we
just use basketball courts (wood) for futsal.
