Background: The "pink princess" of PLANT, Lacus Clyne is the colonies' reigning pop star. She is first introduced in Phase 07, as the daughter of PLANT Supreme Council President, Siegel Clyne, and the fiancee' of Athrun Zala. Mysteriously abandoned in a lifepod, she is rescued by the ArchAngel, which promptly takes her prisoner. Onboard the ship, she befriends Kira Yamato, who goes to greats lengths to help her escape her captivity and delivers her safely back into Athrun's arms.
Lacus reappears in Phase 31. This time her situation with Kira is reversed, and it is she who takes care of him and ensures that he reaches his destination safely. She allows him to leave PLANT with the Freedom Gundam, an act which is later used against her by the new Supreme Council President, Patrick Zala.
Patrick brands her a traitor, and tries to turn public favor against her, Lacus is forced into hiding, and her father is assassinated by Patrick's men. Despite this stetback, she still continues to preach her message of peace through clandestine radio broadcasts. With the help of Andy Waltfeld, she hijacks the Eternal, a ZAFT military class ship, and joins up with the ArchAngel and Kusanagi. They form the Tri-Ship Allliance, an organiztion dedicated to ending the war.
Personality: An indomitable will lies behind a calim a poised demeanor. Cheerful and friendly, Lacus' optimism is often mistaken for naivete. Her serene presence and constant diplomacy are her trademarks. Lacus is gifted with the ability to connect with others, and her words of inspiration have helped many. A staunch believer in peace, she holds true to her beliefs and lets no one intimidate her into changing it.
