[ CHAPTER 6 ] ~ THE OROCHI HAKESSHU ~ |
|
1800 years ago, the Orochi was originally
a spirit-guardian of the Earth.
The Yata clan was responsible for keeping
Orochi imprisoned in the Seal.
For 1140 years, generations of the Kusanagi
and Yasakani clan trained together and thus developed similar techniques.
Under the commands of the Emperor, Yasakani
was imprisoned, but later escaped with the help of Hakkeshu.
One fateful day, Leopold Goenitz - Master
of the Wind, the strategist of the Hakkeshu, killed the elder sister of
the Kagura twins.

The KOF tournament was once again revived in 1996. The host of this
year's tournament was unknown.
Some time before the tournament, Kyo was attacked by a mysterious
person.
The attacker was so strong that Kyo was totally powerless against
him.
Just before Kyo passed out, he heard his attacker say,
"I'll be waiting for you in the KOF tournament, Kyo Kusanagi.
Improve on your skills, I hope that you will not disappoint me
...."
Kyo regained consciousness in his room, attended by his girlfriend
Yuki, along with Benimaru and Goro.
Kyo thus decided to join the KOF tournament with Benimaru and Goro
to find out more about his attacker.
Iori, on the other hand, was approached by Mature and Vice ( Rugal's
personal assistants ).
They revealed that they are members of the Hakkeshu and were sent
to kill Kyo and Iori.
They also confessed that they were attracted to Iori and wanted
to help him kill Kyo.
Iori agreed to joined the KOF tournament with them, but he made
one thing certain ....

This year, Geese himself joined the tournament with his rivals
Wolfgang Krauser & Mr Big.
However, he did not get to fight the Bogard Brothers.
Suddenly, a lady named Chizuru Kagura, a descendant of the Yata
clan, appeared and challenged the Japan Team to test their skills.
Chizuru had a fight with Kyo, who proved to be stronger than
she had expected.
Pleased with his skills, Chizuru thus explained her motive of hosting
the King of Fighters Tournament.
This tournament had meant to gather the strongest fighters in the
world to help her defeat Goenitz and stop the awakening of the Orochi.
Watching all this is Leona, an orphaned girl who was suffering from
amnesia since young.
Adopted and personally trained by Heidern, Leona was sent to replace
Heidern in this year's tournament.
A dark secret lies in her past ....
In a sudden great gust of wind, the stadium was totally wrecked.
Goenitz has made a grand entrance.
Chizuru, seriously injured by the flying debris, was unable to fight.
When Goenitz's and Leona's eyes met, Leona felt that she had known
Goenitz for a long time.
Goenitz then revealed that Leona is also a member of the Hakkeshu,
and her power will awaken in due time.
( Leona's elemental is water. )
Goenitz also childed Mature and Vice for betraying the Orochi, and
their punishment will come shortly.
Goenitz then approached Kyo and asked whether his skills has improved.
Kyo then realized that the mysterious attacker was Goenitz.
Although Kyo had been training vigorously, he proved to be no match
for Goenitz.
Chizuru joined in the fight, later followed by Iori.
A raging battle ensured.
When Iori executed his Hacchuhai, he was suprised to discover that
he too could use crimson flames like Kyo.
Goenitz was then trapped in a huge pillar of fire.
Finally, Kyo executed his Orochi-nagi and defeated Goenitz.

At the end of the battle, the Oath of Blood made Iori go mad with
rage and killed his Hakkeshu partners Mature and Vice.
True to the words of Goenitz, the punishment of betraying the Orochi
was : DEATH .

After the tournament, Geese, Krauser and Mr Big went their seperate
ways.
Mr Big thought that it was a good chance to regain his status as
kingpin of Southtown.
Thus, he ordered one of his gunmen to shoot Geese down.
Fortunately, Billy managed to intercept the bullet with his pole.
As he entered his limousine, Geese laughed at Mr Big's pathetic
attempt to kill him.
Mr Big then warned Geese to watch his back, and swore that he will
get his empire back.

Speaking of vengeance, Geese thought of another scheme to get rid
of his arch-enemy, Terry Bogard.

After having mastered the techniques taught in the Scrolls, Geese
ordered Billy to destroy the Scrolls.
Geese believed that he is ready to eliminate his his enemies once
and for all, and also to show Southtown who's boss.
Geese was displeased that he did not get to fight Terry in KOF '96,
thus he decided to organize the KOF in Southtown again.

As expected, Terry made it to the finals, and the battle of destiny between Geese and Terry ensued.
It was a tough fight as both fighters were evenly matched.
Just at the critical moment, Geese was unable to execute his Razing
Storm due to his past injuries.
Terry used the moment of weakness and blasted Geese with his Triple
Geyser ( The power-up version of Power Geyser ).
Geese flew across the room, broke through the wooden barrier and
fell off Geese Tower ( again ! ).
Terry caught hold of Geese's hand, but Geese rejected his help and
fell laughing maniacally.

Some time later, Terry began to have nightmares of Geese. Was it
a premonition ???
True enough, it seemed that Geese has managed to resurrect himself
with the power of the Scrolls.
However, Billy felt that Geese wasn't the same Geese as before .........
