The Mainland Camp is located on the shore of Big Lake in a spot known as Crockett Point. The camp, which is accessible by car over an unpaved road, sits facing west. The sunsets, as viewed from the screened porch, are some of the best in this old world. There are hundreds of acres of woods waiting to be explored.
The camp has 3 bedrooms, but there will be a fight to see who gets to sleep on the screened porch. The camp has an indoor bathroom. There is no commercial electricity; therefore an electrical generator pumps water into the camp. The generator starts with the turn of a key. Lights are provided by both DC electricity and gas. Everything but food and personal items are provided for your comfort.
There is excellent fishing and swimming. A double-ended canoe is available for your pleasure. You will fall in love with Big Lake. Just like the loons, you will want to return year after year.
*Camps are housekeeping cottages meaning that you are expected to leave them in a clean condition at end of your stay so that next campers may move right in.
