The New Garden Sirom Toli is one of the oldest tolis of Ranchi. There are two other siroms at Ranchi- Konka Sirom and Lal sirom. The word Sirom refers to a Sindwar plant and the word toli means a locality in a town or a village inhabited by people.

During the second world war this locality was a camping ground for the British and American Soldiers. It was they who have added 'New Garden' to Sirom Toli. Their Barracks are still there and are being used by the Military Engineering Services.

The village head man is called the 'Pahan'. He conducts all the rituals during the Tribal festivals. Most of the rituals are conducted in the Sarna.During Sarhul the whole of Ranchi comes to New Garden at the Sarna.

Though we have a very small piece of land here and live in avery congested environment yet I feel pride in staying in my ancestors place.
