Common Guava Blue ( Underside )

The common guava blue, unlike what the name suggests, is a pretty rare butterfly, especially in peninsular India.

This rare butterfly landed on my terrace one fine afternoon, and lunch was soon forgotten in the quest of getting good shots of this fella. I had got my new digital camera just the day before, so i fired off shots like crazy.

This fella kindly posed for me on a terrace plant for a full 2 hours, all the while just opening and closing its wings, thus providing me with all the angles for taking its shots.

Lens : Tamron 70 - 300 mm, used in the 'Macro' mode
