Statement of Faith
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God the Father, on His throne in heaven, is infinite in wisdom, power, love, holiness, justice, mercy, goodness, truth, and faithfulness. He desires for man to worship Him in spirit and truth, praise Him, fellowship with Him, pray to Him, obey Him, and confess sin to Him. He has chosen, before the foundation of the world, those who are His elect people, and works within their hearts to make that election certain. At the same time, He calls upon each person to decide either to accept Him or to reject Him during their lifetime, as a matter of personal choice.
God the Son, the only begotten Son of the Father is our Lord Jesus Christ, who willingly limited His prerogatives for a time and humbled Himself by being completely obedient to His Father's will, came to earth as a human being, was born of a virgin, and was filled with the Holy Spirit. He overcame all temptation and sin, and was voluntarily crucified by sinful man, according to God's divine plan, to provide the only avenue of salvation for man. As an evidence of His obedience to His Father and evidence of His obedience to His Father and sinless life on earth, God raised Him from the dead, achieving victory over sin and death.
God the Holy Spirit is that Person Who draws attention to Jesus Christ and Who indwells every believer at the time of accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord, by convicting, sealing, helping and teaching.
We believe that THE BIBLE is the inerrant Word of God as originally inspired by the Holy Spirit, in the Old and New Testaments containing 66 books. The Scriptures are therefore the only reliable written guideposts in matters of faith and practice.
We believe that MAN (mankind) was originally created by God for the ideal purpose of glorifying God and having fellowship with Him forever. However, man chose to do his own selfish will by disobeying God's clear direction. Therefore, man became separated from God by his sinful disobedience. As a result, all creation then began to suffer decay and death, and it continues to do so. Only by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ may man overcome death and become spiritually reborn, returning to a state of fellowship with God.
We define BELIEVERS as being those men, women, boys and girls, who individually believe and trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross for his or her eternal salvation and security. Such belief and trust is reckoned to each believer as righteousness by God as a free gift, since Jesus substitutionally paid the penalty of death incurred by the believer's sinfulness. Believers then become God's adopted children, inheriting eternal life. Some outward evidences of being a believer are his recognition and repentance of his sins, his love for other believers, his continuance in doing good works and his changed life, following Jesus' example.
We believe in JESUS CHRIST'S IMMINENT RETURN. Jesus Christ, presently at the right hand of the Father, interceding on behalf of each believer, will soon return to take His bride, the church, to be with Him. Also, He will return to the earth in power at the end of the Tribulation with a host of angels, immediately conquering Satan and all the armies of the world, and establishing His kingdom on earth.
We believe the following to be the MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF BELIEVERS:
Obedient and joyful worship (worth-ship) of God, as individuals and in the meetings of the local fellowship (body of believers), and devotion to prayer, in a manner faithful to the Word of God.
Baptism by immersion in water, followed by a walk of obedience to the Lord, as outlined in Scripture. Baptism is a believer's appropriate response to God's free gift of salvation.
