Updated 12 May 2008: Well, Nolan was born on 8 May, 2008 at 5:06 in the morning after 22 hours of labor! He weighed 8 lbs 8 oz. and was 21 inches long! It's been four days now and I'm finally getting around to getting some photos posted of the little guy. I can't believe how little sleep we have been getting! It's just a lot of work and a lot to get used to. I have been trying to do what I can at night to keep Laura from getting up when possible, of course she has to get up for the feedings. She is really tired compared to me. I'm already getting frustrated... learning to have patience is not fun but there is not other choice! We do love the little guy... so glad he made it here OK. There were complications, but all is going well. Nolan has Jaundice so we have a special lighted pad for him to lay on all day and night, which is a pain in the neck. I can't wait until his levels to come down so we can stop using it. Ok, back to the photos... they are posted on Nolan's page so... Click here to go there. Oh, and Molly is handling the arrival of Nolan OK. She's such a good dog and seems to understand what's going on. Ok, that is all I have time for now... I need some sleep. nshow is June 21 & 22!
Purpose of this site...
There are a couple of reasons to create a personal webpage. One reason is for close friends and family to keep up to date with recent activities. I also do a fair amount of buying/selling online (auction sites and classified listings). So, this page also serves as a reference to those who may want to do a little research on whom they are doing business with. One other reason for this site is to have my name out there on the internet so that lost friends, such as those from the military, can find me easier. Just keep one thing in mind please, I am not proficient at HTML so some things here may be a little off. If so, please let me know!
So who is Aaron?
Where to begin.... here is a brief summary. After high school (1990), I joined the US Army (for 8 years) where my primary job was Military Police (MP). I did MP work for about five years and for the last three years I was a member of the US Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) as a shooter/instructor on the Service Pistol Team. I left active duty (1998) and went to Ferris State University where I got a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. I was also in the National Guard from 1998 -2001 and was a member of the National Guard Bureau's All Guard Pistol Team. After graduation from college (2002) and entering the civilian workforce, I married my wife Laura. We have a sweet miniature dachshund named Molly and we live in our first house in the Grand Rapids, MI area. Currently, Laura is "knocked-up" and we are expecting a new baby boy in May! Currently I work for an electric utility company and love my job. I am an Amateur Radio operator (K8APS) with a General Class license. Some hobbies include electronics, hunting, camping, marksmanship/firearms and recently boating. Things are great! I know, it is difficult to believe!.
