Preparation for the 'May 2009 Big Day'
Whether it's been 5 years or a whopping 20, high school reunion is a fun opportunity to reminisce about days gone by. In addition to seeing old friends, high school reunion allow you to strut your stuff. To be able to achieve the best and rewarding reunion, the group decided to have a regular monthly meeting — every 2nd Sunday of the month, 1:00 PM — to monitor the progress of the preparations.
Election of Officers
Set of officers will be elected to ensure order and guidance is in place in any endevour of the group. It is also a requirement of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Philippines in registering the group as a non-profit/non-stock organization.
Strategies for Fund Generation
The group proposed the following strategies to generate funds:
- Pledges — The alumni is requested to pledge an amount which he/she will determine. Any amount will be appreciated by the group. It was clarified that pledge(s) is different from registration fee. The former is voluntary while the latter is required.
- Solicitation — The group shall write personalities and entities for solicitation and sponsorship. Mr. Joel Genesis shall be requested to assist in this aspect.
- Registration Fee — The registration fee for the reunion was pegged at Php 300.00. This amount was said to be affordable even for low-income earners. Subsidy will be taken from pledges and other sources.
- Raffle Ticket — The group proposed to have a raffle during the event. The tickets shall be sold even to non-alumni to generate additional funds.
- Souvenir Advertisement — Companies/Business entities shall be requested to post their advertisements on the reunion souvenir for a fee. The souvenir will be printed in the same format as the High School Annual.
