Actor, writer, director and producer, Jon first started acting at the age of twelve at the dinner table, trying to get his older brother to laugh. After many nights of frustration, Jon's mother swore that if he was going to act (up), he would do it professionally (in other words, take it out of the house!) - so she enrolled him in an acting class/talent agency. From which he never landed one paying gig. But he did discover his passion for the stage and screen.
Jon has been working consistently for the last four years, acting in several independent films including MRS. STEVENS HEARS THE MERMAIDS SINGING, WHEELS, GREEN CARD FEVER, , "Ghost Reader", and "A Taxing Matter". Most recently Jon was cast in the lead role of Lt. Jack Schmidt in the upcoming feature film HORRORS OF WAR. Returning to the stage Jon recently was cast in Curtain Player's Theater as Barney Cashman in "Last Of The Red Hot Lovers and Cheswick in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". Jon also was a regular troupe member of the improv comedy group Out Of Our Heads! Improv. His commercial acting credits include: television ads for OhioHealth, Donato’s Pizza, SafeAuto, EB Brown Optical; industrial videos for Nationwide Insurance, US Bank and Big Lots; and multiple radio spots for Honda and Kroger. Jon lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and their two Labrador retrievers.
Jon made his directorial debut with "Mann in Driving", a short film, followed by "Mann in Therapy", "Mann in Love", "Mann in the Slip and most recently "Mann in Hock". The "Mann series captured Best Comedy at the Drop Your Shorts Film Festival and "Mann In Driving was an official selection for the Short Film Showcase. "Mann In The Slip won Best Video Of The Week from Internet Video Magazine. His film "Real Monsters was an official selection for the 2nd Annual Drop Your Shorts Film Festival. In addition to acting as Co-Producer of the feature Film HORRORS OF WAR, Jon has also produced and directed corporate videos for SportsMedicine Grant; commercials for Sundberg & Fesenmeyer Attorneys at Law; a video prospectus for a movie game show "CineMadness"; and produced two short films that have been picked up for cable television distribution in the UK.
Jon can currently be seen in the local stage production of "Test Drive presented by Acting In Columbus, directed by Richard Mason and written by Dave Carley.
