Robert's Agriculture Equipment has been in business for over 40 years. Providing quality equipment and services to multiple generations of customers.
A. Documentation of the Development Process - The intent of this website is to create an online presence and provide the customers of Robert's Agriculture Equipment with the ability to browse products, learn about the service center, and contact the business. In order to ensure I met these objectives, I took certain step to achive this. These steps included creating properly formatted html pages to display this information. Functional navigation tabs throughout all the website's pages to ensure the user can properly navigate the entire website. I added paragraphs within the html with specific tags, that way I could format them specifically to the font and positioning I desired. I used (div) and (br) to help seperate elements within my html to help with the layout of my pages.
B. Defense of the Final Product - I made the specific design choices that included a general page format that would carry out throught the entire website. I kept a lightgreen background color contrasted by black Sans serif font throughout the website tying into the agriculture theme and providing acceptional readability to the users. Each page shares the same format for sections of the pages, this gives the website a clean, easy-to-read approach that the older customer demographic will appreciate. The website's homepage carrys the theme diplaying the agriculture theme with the colors, images, and video elements. This grabs the users attentions, encouraging them to explore the webstite or pinpoint thier needs to a certain page. The navigation banner is diplayed beneath the business's name and lot image, and is constant throughout the pages, allowing for simple navigation. Below this banner contains images of the different equipment sold by the business and links attached to each category of equipment, which brings you to the equipment page. The repair and mantenance service section of the homepage also diplays information about the service's the business provides and a link to directly to the service page located within the text. The equipment page carrys the same header format as the homepage, but located in the sections are different models of equipment the business currently has for sale. Each section contains a table element representing the pictures above them, which displays the unit's model, price, and year. I felt like theses tables provided a functional way to represent the equipment sold by the business while looking professional. The service page I also added a table next to the mantenance image to display the business hours for the service center. This really worked well and gives the page a nice clean, functional look. The contact page I added form, allowing the user to enter thier contact information and submit a question/comment. I also added a list element into this form which displays which of the contact methods the user prefers. When the form is submitted with the button located at the bottom the user is directed to the thank you page informing them the will be contacted shortly. Fianlly, the about page which has a section that simply diplays these paragraphs. At the bottom of each page I added a banner displaying a Robert's Agriculture Equipment with the year.
C. Opportunities for Improvement and Growth - In the future, I would like to add a form to my html that allows the users of the website to schedule appoinments for the service department as well as setting up a date to get quoted for a service job. I feel like these elements would be a huge benefit to my uncle's website. Adding another form for the user to enter this information and submit it to the website. If I had more time I would've also added more products to the equipment, and seperate each of the types of equipment onto different webpages. This would help the website be more visually appealing, while adding a significant amount of content.
