| In those days Joe would sometimes be scheduled to fight every week -ready or not! I found one Contract in which he would get $45 and 12.5 percent of the purse?! Unlike many Boxers of his day, Joe didn't seem to be effected mentally by all the heavy punching and was sharp as a tack and active until he passed away at age 82. |
