An Old Boxing Poster From Pico Arena

Walsh served on the U.S.S. Tennessee and defeated the
West Coast Army Middleweight Champion, Soldier
Benny Cordova  - (Daily News Searchlight).

As Walsh held the Middleweight Title for Champion
of the Pacific Coast Fleet, the Pico Arena promoted
the Walsh/Cardoza bout as a contest for the title of
"Pacific Coast Champion"  -(Joe's manager & wife Delia).

The "Boxing Record" website, not only has no listing
for this fight but has no record of Joe and Jimmy Walsh
ever having met in the ring -and they had two bouts
together as the old Poster to the left proclaims.

Joe had many more fights than are listed at "boxrec.com ",
some say more than 200..! The Boxrec site has him
listed with a total of 120 and so far, by reading the old
news clippings from his scrapbook, I have been able
to come up with over that amount. Realizing how so many
of these bouts are overlooked by official record
keepers, I will continue to research, update and get
Joe's fight record as complete as I can.
