After setting up our tents we went to Paradise Viewpoint for a 8 mile(13 km) hike. It was an amazing experience. We started out with warm weather and almost no wind. On the way up it got really cold and windy. On one of the trails we saw a beaver who was just sitting in the sun and enjoying showing himself to us. It even seemed as though he was actually posing for our cameras. On the top of the trail we followed we had an awesome view of the surroundings. We even had a little bit of snow on top and, of course, we decided to have a little snowfight. When we came down the trail on the other side of the mountain, we saw that the fog was cumming upwards really fast. But we managed to stay in front of it until we reached the Viewpoint again. Then it was time to eat dinner. James(trekleader) made our first dinner so that we could see how all the equipment worked. He made an easy yet tasty dinner ==> BURRITO'S. After dinner we washed up and then made a campfire. We talked and got to know each other. And of course some of us ate marshmallows. James(trekleader) explained us some more of the trek. We also decided since it was so foggy that it was probably best if we headed straight to Yellowstone. Around 10 pm everybody went to sleep. |
