Day 11: 7/10/00 ==>Drive as far to Yosemite as possible.

Today we had a realy big drive ahead of us(again). :-)
We had to drive as far as we could towards Yosemite Natl. Park. On the way we saw nothing but desert, so most of us just slept all the way.  I had time to read my book.
We drove about 9 to 10 hours and managed to reach Tonopah.  There we stayed at an RV-parking.
We had to put up our tents at a rocky site which was not really intended for tents.  After not such a great night we left Tonopah as soon as we could.

Day 12: 8/10/00 ==>Drive to Yosemite and Yosemite itself.

Now we only had a short drive ahead of us(6 hours).  So we drove straight to Yosemite.  On the way we drove through Tioga Pass, the highest pass in California.  We had lunch at Tenaya Lake in Yosemite Natl. Park.  A few of us played some frisbee on the beach.  It was a lot of fun.

After lunch we drove towards the Valley where we were supposed to find a campsite, but since we came in late there wasn't any place left.  So James decided that we camped outside the park for one night.

On the way out we saw the BIG TREES ==> SEQUOIA.  It was an amazing view to see those thousand and more years old trees. The trees were even to big to take good pictures, so I only took one.  After that short hike we left the park and after half an hour we reached our campsite.  We had little time to put up our tents before it got dark.  So we managed to set a new record.  We took down all the stuff and put up all of our tents under 10 min.  The other campers there watched us with open mouth.  It was quite funny.
