Arena: Summary
Arena is about Callie Hayes, who gets transported to a strange world (the "Arena" of the title) when a friend's idea at making a few bucks doesn't go exactly as planned. Given no instructions but to follow the road to the gate and so get back home, Callie is frustrated, terrified, and enraged at being kidnapped.
Callie soon learns that not all is as it seems, and that there are many other people trapped in the Arena, all trying to make their way through it as they see fit. Warned against distractions, Callie must pit "common sense" against faith to see the truth of the Arena, the people around her, and herself.
Okay, so that sounds really lame. But it's the best I can do without giving away spoilers. I don't want to mention plot lines or any other character names, because if you read the book after reading this, I don't want you to have any preconceptions about stuff that comes up. So... yeah, you'll just have to take my word that Hancock writes a far better story than I do a summary.
