Anime

Anime. It's Japanese, and it's everywhere. First one I ever saw would have to be Pokemon, in middle school. Now of course, there are far better series out there than Pokemon. But you have to admit they're cute. (All right, I admit they are cute. But I'm a girl who likes cute things, such as kittens, bunnies, pokemon... you get the picture.)

So then, flipping through tv channels one day, I caught the last half of a Dragonball Z episode, in which Vegeta and Nappa had just set loose the Saibamen on Tien, Chiao-zu, Krillin, Yamucha, Picollo, and Gohan, who were all waiting hopefully for Goku to get there in time. That must have been... 7 years ago. Good old cartoon network. But I was hooked. I watched Sailor Moon as well, but liked DBZ better. I remember waiting eagerly for Gundam Wing to come on, and watching it dutifully every day. I made a good friend at school by commenting on her sailor moon fanart that I happened to see in choir one day. You'll realize our small, 200 student private Christian school had very few people who even knew what anime was, let alone liked it.

Since then I've seen other series, cycled through new favorites, etc. And even though DBZ is lame, I still own a few videos of my absolute favorite episodes and will watch re-runs when I'm bored and laugh at them. I like the show. I like the hilarity of the dubs. I think I always will. And even though now I wouldn't dream of watching a new series in anything but Japanese, I can't watch Gundam Wing in anything but English, because that's the way I first saw it.

Well I'm not going to bore you any longer. Here you can find what I like about anime.
