Sound Training Principles
A Sensible Approach to Training for Long Term Distance Running Success
[email protected]
In my opinion Nothing embodies the philosophy of training for distance running events more than the following two excerpts from the book Once A Runner by John L. Parker.

"The only true way (to become a runner) is to martial the ferocity of your ambition over the course of many days, weeks, months, and (if you can accept it) years. The Trial of Miles; Miles of Trials."

"And not one of them was prepared, truly prepared to believe that it had not so much to do with chemicals and zippy mental tricks as with that most unprofound and sometimes heart-rending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottoms of his training shoes."

Too many times coaches and athletes alike make the process of preparing for distance running events overly complicated. They try to take the simplicity, freedom, and passion out of the .....and replace it with scientific jargon, mathematical equations, and non-running activities. Running was meant to be experienced...enjoyed...
Take a look inside to find out how you can combine logical steps towards fitness while embracing the magic/passion of running.
