The 2004 Wrestling Year-End Awards
By Rick

To all E-Wrestling superstars, workers, federation leaders and fans alike...

Welcome to the 2004 E-Wrestling Year End Awards! First off you will notice the most glaring difference ... the name. The reason for the name change is to do two things. One, better reflect the all encompassing aspect of E-Wrestling in general. With wrestling groups offering up mid year and year end ballots over the last few years from all sorts of circles it seemed only fitting we do the name change.

Reason two? To honor many of the long time vets and groups that have stood out, such as the likes of RSPWF, The E-Ring, The Fan Site, Just the Facts, Tag Team Temple, EWRT and the countless others that have striven to bring to attention the E-Wrestling world.

So, who am I? My name is Rick. Many of you know me from running the 2004 RSPWF Mid Years with Jim Smallman this past summer. I am also the handler of Tommy Danger. I've been in the EW biz since the days of intra-net and have been in several E-Fed's since the advent of the world wide web and AOL.

I have been both just a handler and a "fedhead" in my time with my true love being just a handler. I have also been known to be an ambassador of sorts to our game over the years. Always in a constant thought process mode of making our game better and shared by more fans and gamers.

I am also a big stats and number's guy as many of my friends will attest to, so taking on a project such as year ends and mid years is a fun sort of thing to do. This year, as Jim steps aside to take care of out of character issues, I was offered help from Pat and Tim and they will help run this shin dig. Pat handles a few characters around the leagues with the most notable being Shane Martin and Roland Dean. Tim handles Cyril Lesley full time and has dabbled in quite a few others as well. Both men have quite a history in EW in their own right.

As a matter of fact, all of us "EWr's", as they like to call us, do. That's why the year end awards ballots are sent out to everyone we can get it to. It is the workers, fans and fedheads together that make these a true experience. So, enough of the pre amble. Lets get to the rules.

All ballots must be emailed to both myself and Pat. Our addresses are as follows:

Rick: [email protected]
Pat: [email protected]

If any poll is only sent to one of us, it's rejected. Two of us are doing it to ensure there are no miscounts or funny business.

I know a lot of you guys use free email such as Hotmail, and using such an address is fine - but you MUST inform us with each poll your name and the characters that you handle - and in which feds. Regardless of using a free mail account or otherwise. If we feel something is suspicious, the ballot is rejected. Simple. We won't be fooled, so just don't try. Don't count that as a challenge. As Jim's old schoolteachers used to say, you're only cheating yourself. (Thanks for the quote, Jim!)

It's been a long year and all of us have put in some hard work, but lets try and not vote for ourselves unless we really feel it is warrented. It's to let our peers know that we have liked what we have seen from others which makes this game enjoyable.

Complete the following ballot and send it on in - remember to BOTH:

[email protected] & [email protected].

Ok, a few changes on the ballot will be taking place. For the most part, things remain as they have in the past and most categories remain the same. However, due to an abundant amount of votes in the Fued of the Year, Match of the Year and the confusion as to whom the Rookie's to EW (not just federations) were, we are going to have some "nomination" categories. They are: Match of the Year. Feud of the Year. Rookie of the Year & Women of the Year.

These categories will be filled with previously offered up choices from the fedheads. Each fedhead will be sent a mail and with the help of their own workers, each fed will offer up the best 4-5 choices for each of these "nominated" categories. This choices will be listed on the new ballot. This allows for an easier over all count or tabulation if you will and it will allow the choices to be list to "jog" the memories of the readers/voters. Keep in mind, you may still offer "write ins" in these categories as not all choices may have been sent in.

That will be all of the "nomination" categories we try this year. In the future, mayhaps more will be added. All other categories will remain voted upon in the familiar method. Ballots and results will be posted in several posting forums as well as sent to as many fedheads that we can possibly get addresses to. It is key that we get help from all fedheads to share the ballots with others.

DEADLINE IS......January 10th, 2005!!!
