The Old Guard Responds
By Casey James

After four and a _half_ years in this business, holding some of the top titles in the world, making a name for myself through hard work and broken bones, Casey James still has to listen to whiny bitches.

I don't need to list of the people I've beaten. You _know_ the names of the people I've beaten. Why? Because Except for where I am now, the places I've wrestled have been covered on television in almost every country in the world. I worked my way up to the best places in the world to face the best people in the world to become the best in the world myself.

Oh, and Brody Thunder is a buddy of mine.

See, I've seen the same kind of crap over and over again... Hell, I've seen it put into angles by the bookers and all that... These newbies come into the business, and they want the respect that the old guys get without having to do anything. See, it don't work like that. You gotta earn the respect. J.W. Hardin put in the time to become a respected man. He put asses in the seats, and got people switching to the show he was on. Brody Thunder put asses in the seats, and he performed to the best of his ability. _I_ put asses in the seats, and I worked my ass off.

More importantly? Guys like Hardin, Thunder, Verhoeven, Kauffman, me, Claw, anyone you consider "old guard", they all acted professionally. They didn't run around whining and crying and pointing fingers. Sure, respect had to be earned, but so did disrespect.

Yeah... These days we get put at the top of the card wherever we go... Why? because we belong there. We've proven that. We've consistently made the product more entertaining whenever or wherever we work. We put on good matches, and we cut great promos. And we've _proven_ that by beating your nice little "new generation" badasses while we're at it. And trust me, down in Texas, I'm running into more than enough of them, and I'm _still_ the guy wearing the title.

I've been in this business for four and a half years. I am 33 years old this November. I don't think I _need_ to pass any torch. I'm still in my prime, and I'm still making people tune in. But hey... There's going to always be people who are going to bitch and moan about what I got and they don't... All I gotta say to them is this... You want what I got? Then pull on your boots, and take it from me...

And I guarantee you, It's gonna be "business as usual" for the Blackheart... The only place you'll be rushing into is a hospital... Maybe a burn ward.
