| My great grandfather, William Cook met Mary ? on a boat coming to America. He from Germany and she from Vienna Austria. There is some confusion as to how many children they had. My grandfather, Frank, was the eldest. Then there was Marie, Pete who died during WWI of the flu, Joe and Bill. There was another sister that died at the age of 2 from a fall off of a table. There may have been another sister who died in a fire. William committed suicide when grandpa was 10 years old, forcing him to quit school and help support the family. Grandpa worked in a mattress factory, but they would find him sleeping on the mattresses. |
