Club Champion 2005
After suffering a premiership hangover following our premiership triumph in 2004, the All Hacks managed to persuade (or blackmail!) a total number of 38 players in 2005 to play for at least one match, and at times sacrificing their dignity and reputation for a worthwhile cause. After 35 matches in 2005, featuring some glorious moments and some we would rather forget, it is fitting that we celebrate our wooden spoon season, by honouring the player judged the Best and Fairest in 2005 (much to my disappointment, it's not me!).
Club Champion votes are based purely on statistical merit via a 2-1-4-1 basis, as since you all know, statistics never lie (and cannot be disputed)! In response to certain criticisms about the contentious voting system, the generous "sympathy votes" distributed to compensate the unfortunate goalkeepers of each match, have been scaled down in weight.
Congratulations, Kheang, the All Hacks' Club Champion for 2005. Despite suffering a bout of the "yips" when attempting to convert our hard-earned penalties, Kheang rediscovered his penchant for penalties towards the end of the season, and this time stuck with the All Hacks right till the bitter end, and has now collected back-to-back Club Champion Awards. A true servant to the club!
