| "Won't hurt? It will hurt to see her tell me no." "But what if she says yes?" "She won't, she is mad." His expression lightened. "She will never forgive me. She doesn't let guys fuck her over more than once." "But she forgave you when you cheated." "That was strike one." "So you get three." "No just two. But I don't blame her. If she had cheated on me I wouldn't have forgiven her. I was lucky she forgave me then." He walked from the room. --------------------------------------------One Week Later----------------------------------------------------------------- She felt it before she realized what was happening. She sat in a daze for a couple of seconds. Did someone just hit me? She looked into her rearview mirror. The car behind her looked very close. It had hit her. She carefully got out of her car. No one was getting out of the car behind her. What if they are hurt? That first aid class might come in handy. She quickened her pace and was at the drivers window in seconds. She looked in and saw the back of a man's head. He was looking through his glove box. "You okay?" "Yeah, I was just thinking about some stuff, sorry, I didn't realize," He turned his head to face her. She nearly fainted. "Here's my insurance." He choked on his own voice. It was her, she was standing in front of him. He needed to apologize. She handed him back the paper. "Don't worry about it. I can afford the damages." She looked down at him for a second. "Well I better get to work. It was nice to see you. Next time you can just come by, you don't have to hit my car." She giggled. "I won't hit anymore of your cars. I was just thinking about you. I wasn't paying attention to the road." "Oh, sorry." She lowered her head. "Well I better get my car out of the road. We are taking up a lane here." "Pull over on the shoulder. I wanna see......the damage." "Yeah, okay." He parked right behind her and met her at the back of her car. "It's not that bad." She looked down. It was bad her bumper was about to fall of. "I'm sorry." "It's okay. I usually don't drive this car anyways. I don't know why I took it today." She knew why. Every other car reminded her of Justin. "Here, take my insurance card. I refuse to let you pay for the repair work." "I'll probably just sell it." She couldn't imagine looking at "the car justin hit" every time she walked into the garage. She pulled out her cell phone and dialed directory assistance. She arranged for a tow truck to pick up her car. Then she called the daycare. "Lucy, yes I am fine, I had an accident, a tow truck is on it's way, I'll call a cab company and get a ride home, yeah I'll be there in a bit." "No need for a cab. I'll take you home." "No thanks, you are obviosly on your way somewhere." "I was just going shopping." "Ok, you can take me. But I have to wait for the tow truck." "That's fine." There was an uncomfortable silence. "How's the tour going?" "Good, all the guys miss you. You should come to tonight's show and surprise them. They would love to see you." "I'm......uumm......a lil busy." "I understand." He dropped his head. She could tell he was hurt. "I will go, I'll just reschedule." "Really," His eyes perked up. "The guys will be so happy." He said readjusting his tone. "I'll give you back stage passes, you can surprise them." "Sounds like a plan." The tow truck pulled up. A man in his thirties hopped out of the truck. He walked over to them. "Which car?" He asked. "This one." Tiffany pointed to her car. "Where to?" She hadn't thought of that. "I'll take it to a repair shop." He offered noticing her confusion. "Yeah, you know a good one?" "Yeah." "Where is it? I'll be there as soon as I get my car." "No, we'll follow you." Justin contradicted. The man began to connect her car to the tow truck. Justin gently put his hand on the small of her back to lead her to the car. He helped her into the passenger seat. "I'm buying a truck." She said once he sat down. "Really?" "Yeah then when some idiot rearends me it won't fall apart." She giggled. "Thanks, I felt bad but now you really helped." He teased. "I tried." She leaned back. She didn't feel good. Her stomache was in knots and her head felt light. "You okay?" "Yeah, it's the change in the weather. I'll be fine, I've felt bad for a while now." "You should go to the doctor." "I will, Daddy." "I'm serious, it may be serious." "I'll make an appointment." "Now?" He wanted to make sure she did it. He handed her his cell phone. She called her doctor from her cell phone. She made an appointment for the next week. "Happy?" "Yeah, I guess." He was upset she had refused his cell phone. She was keeping her distance and he knew why. He just didn't know how to fix it. He could apologize and put his heart on the line. Or he could suck it up and hope she came back to him. "I'm sorry." "It's okay it's just a car. I wasn't hurt." He had meant for the jealousy. "I meant for the JC thing." "It's okay, you're a guy you couldn't help it." She wanted to grab him and kiss him. But she also wanted to hop out of the car. She didn't know what to do. She had been waiting for him to apologize. But now he was and she didn't know what to do. They sat in silence until they reached the repair shop. |
