| "Hello?" "Michelle? Why didn't you answer your phone the first time I called?" "Justin? What? You called? It must have been in the trunk." "Oh, well thank god you answered, I was going to go crazy." "OK, can you tell me why?" "A plane on it's way to Orlando from Seattle crashed this morning." "What? Hang on." She turned on the closest TV. Sure enough there was footage of a crashed plane. "Oh my god." "Yeah. I just wanted to make sure you were okay." "Yeah I am fine." "Good, well I'll leave you alone now. Just wanted to make sure you were okay." "Ok, thanks for being concerned. Bye bye." "Bye." He sighed with relief. JC smiled and left the room. Justin laid back and closed his eyes. Was she happy to talk to me? Should I apologize? Maybe she would forgive me. He walked out of the room for the hakey sack game. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She unpacked the first suitcase quickly. She threw most of it in the washer and laid the rest in the hamper. The other suitcases had the clothes she hadn't worn yet. She talked to her brother while she hung up the clothes. "Yeah I came home early." "Why didn't you tell me you were coming home?" "I didn't want you to worry about me." "Why'd you come home?" "I need to get the classes together at the daycare." It wasn't a lie. She would have gone on a vacation, but decided to get the classes started. It would keep her busy and hopefully her mind off Justin. "Ok, how's Justin?" "Fine." "Lucy said she will see you tomorrow." "Tell her I said hi. See ya'll later. I have jetlag. I am going to bed. Love ya'll." "Love you, too. Bye." She threw herself on the bed and cried. Why did Justin call? That just makes things worse. If he would have apologized it would have been different. She cried herself to sleep while thoughts ran through her head. "Come here." He gave her a sexy expression. She slowly walked to the side of the hot tub and crawled in with him. He nuzzled his head into her neck. "I love you." He whispered into her ear. "Mmmm, I love you, too." He rubbed her shoulders. She closed her eyes to enjoy the back rub. All of a sudden Justin wasn't there. She opened her eyes and saw him leaving the room with Britney. "Justin, wait, come back, no!" She ran after him, but her legs wouldn't carry her fast enough. He was always just barely out of reach. He wasn't even running, he was slowly walking towards the front door. "Justin, turn around, don't leave!" He walked out the door and sat Britney in the passenger seat of his car. She fell to her knees and cried. She watched through blurred eyes as Justin drove away. She ran into the house and to her room. She woke up sweating. She couldn't get back to sleep. She wanted to get Justin out of her head. She decided to run on the treadmill. She pulled on some winpants and a sports bra. She got onto the treadmill and set it onto the highest setting. She ran for about an hour then decided to swim. She had an indoor pool and it was night time so she decided to swim in the nude. She checked all the doors and made sure they were locked. She walked into the pool room and stripped off her clothes. She jumped into the pool and did a couple of laps. She rested on the steps once she was done. She saw something out of the corner of her eye and turned to face it. It was the hot tub. It hadn't moved but it had caught her attention. Tears ran down her cheeks as she walked back to her room. She crawled into bed and cried. She couldn't sleep and she couldn't do anything else. She felt trapped. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucy saw the hurt in her eyes. She saw the tears trying to escape. She didn't want to push her but she wanted her to know she could talk to her. "Hey, it's ok, you can talk to me." She called as Tiffany walked into her office. She heard a mumble in reply. "Home agian." She looked around her office. It felt good to be back where she felt comfortable. Hopefully she could make it through the day without crying. Ms. Ingrid interupted her thoughts. "He wanted to come say hi." She walked Mason through the door. "Hey there lil guy." She motioned for him to sit down. "Hi Ms. Tiffany." He ran to her and hugged her. "I missed you." "I missed you, too. I missed everyone." "Why'd you come back? I thought you were gunna be back later." "I missed ya'll too much." "Will you come play with me?" "Yeah, let's go." She walked with him back to his room. Colton's eyes lit up when he saw her. He ran over and hugged her. "Where's Justin?" "He's still on tour." She tried to keep her voice steady. "Why aren't you with him?" "I have work to do. I am sorry Mason, I have to get back to work. You come see me after naptime." She excused herself and walked back to her office. The daycare is supposed to make me feel better. How could Justin have affected my life this much? Why wouldn't he apologize? She tried to be mad at him. She tried so hard so she wouldn't be sad. It didn't help though, even when she thought of the way he had acted. It always got interupted with a memory of one of the many good times. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hey, J. What's up?" Chris walked through the door. He had been chosen to cheer up Justin. They had all noticed the hurt in his eyes. He acted like everything was okay but they knew him too well to be fooled. "Just thinking about next week." "What about it?" "We will be back in Orlando." "You gunna.....see Tiffany?" "No, I was thinking about being able to sleep in my own bed." He stood to leave. "Why don't you see Tiffany?" Chris said as casually as he could. "Because...I fucked up. She won't ever forgive me." Justin hung his head and continued walking. "It won't hurt to try." Justin turned around quickly. He looked at Chris in a hateful way. |
