She rubbed her eyes one last time, then lifted her arm while she opened her eyes to see the time. It had been an hour since she had reached her house, so she pulled her cordless from the coffee table, quickly dialing Justin's number.
"Hey, yeah I'm fine, are you okay? I'll be there in a few minutes, tell Joey thank you, you too, bye bye." She dropped the phone onto her stomach, closing her eyes for a brief minute. "Get your ass up." She scolded herself then lifted herself from the couch for a brief second then fell back onto it when she saw the figure at her dining room table.
"Hi." His meek voice hit her, and she reached for a tissue to quickly remove the tears.
"How long have you been here?" She stood, looked around the living room and connected dining room, the fell back onto the couch, not finding anything to keep her busy.
"Ten, fifteen minutes." His tone came stronger this time, causing her to rise once more and walk to the door.
"Well, I'd love to stay and hear whatever harsh things you have to say, but I have to get going." She motioned for him to follow her as she grabbed her keys in one hand and suit case in the other. She reached for the knob, but JC quickly turned her around making her drop her suit case.
"I wasn't going to say anything harsh." He gently pushed her against the door, leaning close to her.
"Josh, I'm sorry about what you saw, but it wasn't what you think." She put her hands to either side of his face, pulling him to be eye level with her.
"I know, I just, I don't know." He dropped his eyes to the floor, letting his hands slide from her arms to her hips, where they hung, threatening to fall.
"Josh, I'm sorry, I have to go. I'll talk to you about this later, okay?" She pulled her hands from his face, reaching down to once more obtain the suit case.
"Don't go, please let me explain." He tried to guide her to the couch, but she kept her place.
"There is nothing to explain, I completely understand why you got mad."
"No you don't." Finally she let him take her to the couch, while she glanced at her watch.
"Look.." She had to think of something, he had already seen her cry once, and she didn't want to give him the opportunity again.
"Listen, Justin has always been every girl's dream, and I just thought that maybe..."
"Maybe I had used you to get to him?" She stood, her hand pinching the bridge of her nose while she collected her thoughts. "Josh, I could have tried with Justin without using you. You hated me and Justin was civil to me. Had I wanted him, I would have tried then. But, I don't see Justin that way, and to be quite honest, I didn't see you that way either. I didn't see any of you guys that way." She paused for a minute, looking down at him to make sure he was processing the information. "But you, you changed my mind, and I really enjoyed the new Josh. Please don't make me regret giving you a second chance by acting this way every time Justin and I spend a moment alone."
"I won't Bri, I mean I'll try not to, but sometimes my temper just runs away without my senses. But after I had some time to think about it, I realized just what you said. You could have easily had Justin without going through me." He stood to meet her, pulling her hands into his.
  "Don't say that, I couldn't have easily
had Justin, I could have easily tried with Justin."
"Ok, tried. But I have a feeling when you put your mind to something it happens." He smiled with an innocence she had never seen in him, causing her to lean into his chest.
  "You could say that."
"Oh man..." He sighed as he ran his hands up and down her back, enjoying having her in his arms without distraction.
"Josh, don't let me go." She whined when he tried to pull away from her, then ran her hands up into his hair to reward him when he tightened his grip.
"Can we sit?" He inquired, then pulled her to rest in his lap when she nodded her head against his chest. She tried to ignore the shrill of the phone when it began to ring a few minutes later, but finally gave in and pulled it to her ear.
"Yes, I'm sorry Justin, I got distracted. I am so sorry, I know, be right there, bye bubba." She threw the phone onto the couch, then leaned back into JC, not ready to leave him.
"Come on babe, you have to go." He carefully lifted her to her feet before standing.
  "Come with me?"
  "Of course."

"Are you okay? Do you need anything?" She kneeled next to Justin, where he was laying on the couch, after Joey had been thanked and sent home.
"No, did you find JC?" His sleepy eyes tried to focus on her, but instead closed in frustration.
"Yeah, he'll be here soon, he stopped by his house. He wants to stay here also, okay?"
"Of course, I'll have two people to wait on me." He moaned with pain as he tried to chuckle, then opened his eyes to try to focus on her once more.
"Do you need some of your medicine?" She stood ready to retreive a glass of water and his pills.
"Please?" He took his medicine when she held it out for him, then looked up to her quickly. "This is going to make me fall asleep, take my room for yourself."
"If you need anything, I mean anything call for me." She tucked the blanket tighter around him, then turned her attention to the near silent televsion.
"Bri?" JC whispered as he peeked his head around the corner, finding her leaning her head against the back of the couch, from her position on the floor, fast asleep. "You are too cute." He dipped down, taking her in his arms, then headed for the steps.
"Josh?" Her head lifted for a second, then fell back onto his shoulder when she was sure it was him.
"Sshh baby, you've had a long day." He reached the top of the stairs, pausing for a minute, while he tried to pick a room to put her in.
"Justin's room." She informed, knowing his delima.
"Ah, ok." He carried her into the room, then layed her into then bed, pulling the covers tightly around her then kissed her forehead. "Good night."
"No." She rolled to the side of the bed, pulling the covers back a little to let him in.
"No?" He looked down at the covers she had pulled back, wanting to make sure he was getting the right hint.
"Lay with me." He obliged, and she rolled back to rest her head on his chest once he was fully settled.
"Good night." His lips met her forehead briefly, then he pulled the covers closer around them.
  "Sweet dreams."
