| Chapter Sixteen |
| "Morning." He felt her move in his arms, as he kept his eyes closed, enjoying the moment. "Morning." She snuggled closer to him, not wanting to leave his arms for the rest of the day. "You sleep well?" He turned onto his side, pulling her into him. "Better than I have in a long time, you?" She slowly slid her hand up his chest, to the back of his neck, then finally into his hair. "Same here, sweetie." He moved his head closer to her hair, letting her intoxicating scent fill his nostrils. "I better get up and check on Justin." She informed, but made no attempt to actually carry through with her plans. "Yeah." He squeezed her lightly, then began to pull himself from the bed. "I'll check on Justin and get our suit cases so we can shower." "Thanks." She listened to his foot steps as they left the room and started down the stairs, then rolled over onto her back. "He's still asleep." He set the luggage onto the bed, opening his own, while she sat up and started opening hers as well. "Ok." She pulled out her clothes for the day, as well as her toiletries, then set them to the side as she closed the case. "I'll shower in one of the extra bathrooms, you take Justin's if you are brave enough." He bent at the hips to kiss her quickly, then disappeared. She pulled herself from the bed and into the connecting bathroom, then looked over Justin's shower products as she turned on the water. "Figures." She let her eyes roam over the shampoo along with conditioner, then the body wash and miscellaneous face products. She pulled the clear shower curtian closed, then let the hot water soak into her body for a few minutes before beginning to lather herself. "OH! SORRY!" Justin squeeled as he quickly exited the bathroom he had entered to find Brianne showering. "It's okay." Unphased, she finished her shower, then brushed her teeth, dressed and exited the bathroom to find Justin on the bed, a worried look in his face. "I'm sorry, I wasn't even thinking, I mean I never have to worry about someone being in my bathroom." "It's okay Justin, it was an accident. What are you doing up here anyway?" She reopened her suit case, depositing her used items and dirty clothes inside. "I was going to take a shower." He pointed to the bathroom door, telling her that was why he had entered the room. "It's all yours now, maybe you should stay up here and I will take another room." She looked around the room, knowing Justin would be more comfortable in his own room. "No, I like being downstairs, I'm close to the kitchen." He stood, a look of pain briefly taking his face, then started for the bathroom. "Ok, I'll be downstairs if you need anything." She waved her good bye, then giggled at the incident of that morning as she made her way to the kitchen to make breakfast. Twenty minutes later, JC found her making scrambled eggs with the phone tucked between her shoulder and ear. "Ok, I can do that, yeah, I'll just stop by later, thank you, ok, bye bye." She set the phone onto the counter and JC wrapped his arms around her waist from behind to tell her he was there. "Who was that?" He nuzzled his head into her neck, loving the feel of her damp curls against his bare skin. "Johnny, he wants me to cancel everything for this week, type up a press release about Justin's ailment, and tell you not to go to work until further notice." She moved, JC still attached to her, to pull out some plates from a near by cabinet. "Vacation? Oh hell yeah." He watched over her shoulder as she divided the eggs between the three plates, then added some biscuts and sausage. "After breakfast can you stay with Justin while I run to the office to grab few things?" She carried two of the plates into the living room, while JC followed with the third. "Of course, morning Justin." JC watched as he hobbled down the steps, pain apparent in his face. "Morning." He blushed slightly as he looked over to Brianne, causing JC to glance between them with an odd expression. "What would you like to drink?" She looked to each of them, letting them know she was listening. "Orange juice." JC settled into the couch as Justin finally reached the couch, taking the seat next to him. "Water." He informed, refusing to raise his eyes to meet hers. "What's wrong?" JC waited until she was out of ear shot to ask Justin. "I walked in on Brianne while she was in the shower." Justin dropped his eyes to his plate, pushing the fork through the eggs. "Oh no, is she mad at you?" "No that's the wierd thing, she didn't act as if it even bothered her at all, just told me it was an accident and not to worry about it." "That's Bri for you." JC quieted when she entered the room, drinks carefully propped in her hands. "Thanks." They each whispered as she set the drinks in front of them, then she took a seat next to JC. "Who wants to say grace?" She looked to the men, then continued when neither offered. "Heavenly Father, we'd like to thank you for this food and pray that you let it nourish our bodies. We'd also like to pray for Justin's healthy recovery, and thank you for our many blessings, in Jesus name we pray, amen." "Amen." Was breathed by both the men, then they quickly threw themsleves into their food, not sure what to say. Soon, Brianne had taken the empty plates into the kitchen to be rinsed and put into the dishwasher, and returned to the still quiet men. "I have to run to the office, behave yourselves." She pecked JC on the lips, then Justin on the cheek and exited the silent house in favor of her car. "You could have talked at least once." JC scolded Justin as he realized how silent breakfast had been. "So could have you." He retorted, pulling a blanket over himself as JC moved to a chair to allow him to lay down. "I know, what's wrong with us?" He stood, not waiting for an answer and picked up the nearest phone. "Who are you calling?" Justin eyed him suspiciously, ignoring the television that he had been flipping through the channels of. "Brianne." He dialed her cell phone quickly, then listened as she picked up. "Hello?" "Brianne, we're sorry." "For what?" "Not talking, we were just thinking about other things." Her giggles filled his ear, and he thought of how ridiculous it was for him to call and apologize. "It's okay babe, I have to go, talk to you later." She hung up the phone before he said another word, a smile painted on her face. |
