"Hey Angie, guess what?" Michelle greeted as soon as she walked into the shop.
"Bailey's coming to visit?" Angie rounded the desk and hugged him.
"Yeah that and Haunted got the contract." Her curls bounced with her excitement.
"That's great. Mike bug you for a date?" Angie led them to the store room.
"No, guess he was too excited." Michelle twisted a curl around her finger.
"How bout that tour?" Bailey grabbed her hand.
"Ok, you keep this one busy." Michelle giggled pointing to Justin. "Just give him the pricing gun, he'll be amused for hours." Her and Bailey were gone before anything else could be said.
"How do you do it?" Angie's eyes pierced his.
"Do what?" He turned his eyes downward to avoid hers.
"Watch him flirt with her. If I'm not mistaken you are interested." She opened a box of CDs.
  "How..."
"I know these things." She set the gun.
"Oh, yeah it's hard, but I'd rather be here then imagining bout it at home." He pulled a few CDs from the box.
"I understand, you have some hefty competition though." She placed a sticker on a CD.
  "What do you mean?"
"They have a history, first loves, you know?"
  "Oh."
"I mean even Jacob couldn't size up."
"I'm not Jacob, and from what I hear, thank god."
"What do you mean?" She creased her eyebrows. Had Michelle told him the truth?
"Bailey told me about him, we had a good talk about Michelle."
"He told you? Well then I can drop this Jacob was the greatest guy thing."
"Yeah, just wish Michelle would, she's not a convincing liar." He chuckled.
"She does it for his parents. I mean could you imagine telling someone thier dead son was a dick?"
"I guess not. What did you mean Jacob couldn't size up? Did she leave Jacob for Bailey?"
"No, almost though. She really thought about it for a while, but in the end she couldn't. Guess she figured she would feel bad for Jacob. Michelle has a problem with that, thinking too much about the other person before she does something. I mean usually that is a good thing, but she bends over backwards to please everyone. And rarely gets anything out of it." Her fingers ran across her forehead in frustration. "I dunno, I think she is too smart for Bailey now. They used to be on and off, but now that Jacob is gone, I think she will finally think hard before picking a guy."
"Hopefully." He tugged at one of his short curls.
"So what about you?" He lifted his head and shot her a confused look. "Why no girl?" She clarified.
"Oh, it's kinda hard to meet girls these days. Well it's easy to meet them, hard to trust them and thier intentions."
"I understand. Michelle has the same problem, not cause she's famous, just cause she's stubborn."
  "I hear that." He chuckled.
"She is stubborn all around, when Jacob used to tell her what to do, she'd do the exact opposite. Like one time Sheri wanted her to go to New Mexico with her, Michelle didn't want to go, but Jacob told her not to. So she packed up and went. It's good in some ways, too. Jacob didn't want her to open this shop, and she did."
"Jacob didn't want her to do a lot of things." He tried to chuckle.
"Yeah, he wanted her to be the perfect little house wife, clean and cook all day." She stacked the CDs she had priced in the box and opened another. "But that's not Michelle, she walks to the beat of a different drum."
"I've heard that about her more than once."
"Bailey told you, he should know. He had it bad, she had calmed down a bit by the time Jacob got her. But when her and Bailey were together it was crazy. She was always go go go, wanting to be up and moving all the time. You know you can't even get her to sit still through a movie unless she falls asleep?"
"That explains it, she was watching a movie with me the other night and fell asleep."
"She's not the sit and let life pass you by type." She shook her head at him.
"To the extreme." He pulled one of the CDs out of the box to look at.
"Oh, one tip, don't play tennis with her. You can't win, I mean if you don't win she is mad at herself for not teaching you well, if you win, she's mad at herself." She priced a few CDs.
  "Who does she play then?"
"She has one of those machines, thank God." He chuckled at her exasperated expression.
"Really, I've never played tennis, maybe she could teach me." He waited to chuckle until her face scrunched up and she shot him a didn't you hear me look.
"You're crazy if you do." She shook her head at him like a little old lady talking to a silly child.
"I was playing, I'm not going to be the reason she is mad at herself."
"Ahh, intelligence, don't test hers." She was begining to sound like a tutor.
"You have a man?" Justin squinted his eyes.
"Yeah, off and on for four years. Lewie Bug, you should meet him."
  "Lewie Bug?"
"Yeah we always called Michelle, Michelle Belle, so she made up add ons for our names. It was Angie Boo, Lewie Bug, Jay Bear, Bailey Beets, and Joey was just Bubba. See she made them all start with a B like hers. Kinda like a club, you'll get one eventually I'm sure."
  "Why was Joey just Bubba?"
"Cause he's her brother, and 'he was too cool to use the first name'." She giggled.
  "She thinks highly of him."
"Yeah she does, he's older than her so he was always very protective of her. They are very close, some people even thought they were going out before she told them it was her brother."
  "Really?"
"Yeah, she always wanted to do what he was doing. That's why she learned to drive a stick. She tried to teach me but we'll just say I couldn't pick it up."
"Ahh a standard." Michelle startled them.
"We were just talking about you." Angie set the last of the CDs in a box.
"Hopefully all good." She grabbed the box and carried it to the front.
"Yeah for the most part." Angie pulled the box out of her hands.
"Fine you can have it, let's close the shop early and got to a club." Michelle beamed.
"Did you get some?" Angie giggled as she grabbed the keys. Justin was worried, she was seeming unusually radiant, had they done something?
"From that boy, no." Michelle pointed to Bailey as she giggled.
"Thanks, I feel like a million bucks now." Bailey playfully pushed out his lower lip.
"Good, let's go." Michelle grabbed thier hands and playfully pulled them from the store.
