Here's a really neat trick to help eliminate the horribly irritating habit that tapes have of coming unravelled or all loose inside during their little voyage throught the post. I learned it from Terry Dumont, and it's so useful that I thought I'd try and pass it on to everyone else.

1. You take an elastic band (the skinny kind, preferably).

2. pull it gently so that it's straight and not like an "O" (Don't cut it)

3. Put one end through each hole so it passes like a "U" through the holes.

4. Open up the ends and wrap them around the tape.

Here's the finished product

Using elastics like this is a cheap, simple way to keep tapes from unravelling, while not making the package too thick to send as lettermail. A bubble envelope with tapes like this goes easily through the slot at the post office, saving lots of money, which is something we can all benefit from. If you like the trick, pass it along!
