Julian lines (manchester born) is set to make a return to the gritstone scene this winter.He has been cruising the world climbing
, working and just chilling after his 35ft deck out on clippty clopp(sebs ramshaw E8) a few years back.He was the author of Obsession fatale E8 6b perhaps staffs most poular E8 who Kevin thaw recently bust his ancle on trying to on-sight it.Julians tick list for this winter is huge,here is a taster.he is going for an onsight of Masters edge E7 6b,Redpoints of jumping on a beetle E7,Angels share E8,Braile trail E7 and salmon RH E8.I will keep you posted on his progress. |

Local mad man Mark sharrat Is keeping busy this winter here is an insight to his tick list.Very close to ticking Thing on a spring E6 7a *** .It will be the fifth repeat but realy the second since the loss of pebbles(1st by Andy T).He also plans to do:Doug E8 6c *** ,Destination Earth E7 6c ** (3rd ascent) ,Ultimate sculpture E8 7b *** (2nd ascent),Kalooza klien E7 6c ***.His tick list goes on and i will keep you posted on his progress. |

On the upper tier and past the main boulders along the path and you get to the big undercut boulder on your right.Starting on the left of the block and traverse the lip rightwards until it is possible to pull via a flat flake/sloper thing. Grand theft 7c+ *** j critchlow . It was a project of Dave Aucott's and was stolen(by mistake) on a successfull ascent while he was away. |

| Jonny dawes has been showing interest on hencloud recently.Not being able to mention where his new projects is but it is a hard and blank(ish) wall on the main walls by B4XS.He has nearly done it in one on the rope and has gear so its not death.Watch this space for more details. |

A few months ago on a very warm day(greasy) Malc smith armed with jonny welford,allan williams and more,took a look at Mushin put his boots on and set off.
On his first go he made it to the last move and looked well strong ,second go he manged to fall of lower down(slip),Then the third time he cruised up to the rail laughing and then shouting"thats tricky".
In typical smith style he downgraded it from 8a+to 7c+ . |

Tit grip ,Paul higginsons problem (See topo's) has lost a hold ,mentioning no names(gus) .It remains unclimed.Repeats came from Welford,Critchlow and Dearden before it popped off.A few people have come close to repeating it again but as of yet not close enough. . . . . . .Grade is a possible 8a+ for just one move.
We will keep you posted. .
