"Are you ok?" Ethan asked as they were leaving Babylon.

"I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" He stopped and looked at him.

"Yea, I'm sure." Justin smiled, trying to reassure him.

"Look, Justin, it's ok to still have feelings for the guy. It's ok to be sad."

"I know." He took Ethan's hand and they started walking again. "But I'll be fine. This was bound to happen. We couldn't go on the way we did and Brian knew that." He paused for a second before continuing. "I saw him fucking Rage in the back room."

"No"

"Yep. His way of pushing me away, I guess. He probably thought he was doing me a favor."

"Huh?"

"You know, that I'd be better off with someone younger, who can give me what I want. Or maybe he just wanted to give me the last push 'Cause he knew I wanted to leave. But who knows with Brian."

"Wait, wait, you didn't just walk out because you saw him in the back room, right?"

"No. I knew he was just trying to make a point. He'd never rub his tricks in my face."

"But it worked." Ethan was confused, not understanding Justin's motives for leaving. "I mean, he wanted you to walk out and you did."

"Ethan, I was going to leave him, anyway. All he did was make me feel a lot less guilty for walking out."

"Oh, ok then." Ethan pulled Justin to him. "Well, I guess it's my job, as the boyfriend, to try and make you forget all about Brian and his wicked ways."

"Yea?"

"Yea." Ethan smiled, his hand snaking around Justin's waist.
Justin smiled back as he was pulled in for a kiss. He knew that he will always love Brian, but he was determined to start his new life with Ethan.

That was it. It was done. Justin left, just like he thought he would. His little plan had worked. So, what was he still doing there? He needed to get away. From all the staring and the whispering.
He was out the door and in his jeep when he heard someone call out his name. He didn't answer. He just drove away.

He got in to his loft and looked around, thinking that he might see Justin there. No such luck. He didn't even bother fixing himself a drink or getting out of his clothes. He just walked over to the bed, and stretched on his back, his left hand placed on its left side. Justin's side. Well, what used to be his side. 'Cause Justin was gone. He was gone. And all he could do now was wait for him to come back.

Justin woke up to the sound of a violin playing. He stretched out on the bed and looked at Ethan .

"Good morning." Ethan put his violin down and smiled

"Good morning."

Ethan went over to the bed and laid next to Justin.

"I can't believe you're finally here. That we actually spent the entire night together." He kissed his neck.

"Yea, but I have to get up. I have the morning shift at the diner and I want to stop by the loft first and pick up some of my stuff."

"The loft?"

"Yea. Brian won't be there. He's working. Don't worry." He added when he saw Ethan's concerned face. "And even if he is there, I don't care. I'm with you now." He kissed him and was about to get up when Ethan deepened the kiss and put his arms around Justin, pulling him closer.

"Yea, with me."He mumbled

Justin knocked on the door to make sure Brian wasn't still there, and used his key to get in. He felt strange. The loft felt strange. It was hard for him just being there. All he wanted was to get his stuff and leave.

"Brian." He called out, closing the door behind him. "Brian."

"WHAT?" He heard Brian growl.

"Brian?" Justin almost whispered the word as he made his way towards the bedroom. He was shocked to see that Brian was still in bed. This was going to be harder than he thought.

"Miss me already?" Brian said sarcastically.

"I I didnt think you'd be here. I just came to get some of my stuff."

"Well, don't let me stop you." Brian replied as he got up, walked down the steps and fixed himself a drink. Justin couldn't help but notice that he was still wearing the same clothes he had yesterday.

"Why don't I just come back another time?" Justin wasn't sure if he should stay.

"No." Brian exclaimed without thinking and then turned around to look at Justin. "It's ok." He liked having the blonde around even if they weren't together anymore.

"Ok, then." Justin went over to the closet and started putting his clothes in the bag. He could feel Brian's eyes on him the entire time. When he turned to walk over to the desk, their eyes met.

"You want to join me?"

"No, thanks."

"What's the hurry?"

"I have to be at the diner soon."

"Is that the real reason?"

"Look Brian"

"I know. you're sorry. Well, don't worry about it." He handed Justin a glass.

Justin gulped it down and handed it back to Brian, then he walked over to the desk and started packing his sketch books.

"So, how's the fiddler?" Brian sat down on the couch, his eyes still on Justin.

"He's fine. How's Rage?" Justin couldn't help himself.

"Don't know. Haven't seen him since yesterday. I saw you there. Why didn't you join us?"

"I don't think that that 's what you had in mind when you told Mel and Linds that you were looking for me."

"You were always too smart for your own good."

"I just know you well enough to understand you MO, however twisted it may be."

Brian couldn't help but smile.

"Well, it got the job done."

Justin grabbed the bag and walked towards the couch.

"Yea, it did. And you were right I do need to be with someone who can give me what I want."

"HmmI'm a little disappointed, Sunshine. You don't know me as well as I thought."

"What do you mean?"

"I wasn't thinking about what was best for you. I was thinking about what was best for me."

"Huh?"

"Nothing, just forget it. I see you're all packed. Time to go." He wanted Justin gone before he'd say something more.

"No. I want to know"

"Well, we don't always get what we want, do we?"

Justin just shook his head, frustrated. Same old Brian, nothing's changed.

"Fine. See you, Brian."

"Yea, see ya." Brian said as he heard the door slam.

As soon as Justin walked in the diner he saw the entire gang sitting in one of the booths. He didn't know what to say so he just walked to the counter and put on his apron. Deb gave him a comforting smile and pointed to a table that needed cleaning. Justin was graetful. The last think he needed right now was a lecture. As he walked to the table he saw that the gang had stopped talking and was just sItting there, exchanging worried looks.

Justin just smiled at them with his mouth closed and went to work. He knew that they didn't blame him for the break up. They all knew Brian, they all understood. Well, all except for Michael who was, Justin was sure, ready to defend the honor of his 'best friend.'

After a few minutes he saw Mel and Linds coming towards him.

"Hey Justin. How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me."

"Let us decide that, Ok?" Lindsay sat down and pulled out an envelope.

"What's that?"

"An invitation. Every year Linds and I celebrate the day we got together."

"Really? That's great."

"Yea. Here you go. It's tomorrow at 6. Don't be late." Lindsay said with a smile.

"And bring Ethan." Mel added.

"Wait, I don't know about this. I think It'd be better if I stayed away for a while."

"Absolutely not. You're coming and that's that." Lindsay announced.

"Are you sure? I don't want to cause any problems."

"Justin, you're our friend and we love you, regardless of what happens with Brian."

"Yea, and if you're worried about him showing up, don't. That's the last place he'd be."

Justin smiled. He couldn't believe how wonderful they were being. He was grateful to have such good friends. He looked at Lindsay and saw that she was staring at the door. He turned to look
and saw Brian walking in.

"How are you doing?"

"Great. Dazzling." Brian took a sip from his coffee, trying to act nonchalant, but, still, he couldn't take his eyes off Justin, who stared right back.

"Brian, you don't fool me. I know you better than anyone. You can tell me."

"There's nothing to tell, Mikey. I'm fine, so just drop it."

"OK, fine. I have to open the store. Call me if you need anything, ok?"

"Bye, Mikey."

"Wait for us." Emmet shouted. He pulled Ted up and the three of them left the diner.

"Deb My breakfast?"

Justin came from behind the counter, a plate in one hand and a key in another.
Brian looked at the key and then at Justin. Justin put the plate on the table.

"I forgot to give you your key back."

"Keep it."

"What? Brian"

"Just keep it!" He repeated louder, then turned his attention to his plate, singling to Justin that the conversation was over.
