Bear's Field Report

People are always asking me, "Bear, what are you and Michael doing these days?" Or, "What's it like being a stuffed bear?" Here's where you get the real inside story.

Bedroom Movie Theater, Horse Races and Rodeo

Some nights, Michael converts his parents bedroom into a movie theater for his stuffed animals. We all get set up in rows on the bed and watch videos. Scooby Doo used to be the biggest box office draw, but now it seems to be Pokémon. My only complaint is the ticket price. Twenty dollars per animal seems a bit excessive, although I think this stems from Michael having more play money in that denomination than from any form of corporate greed on his part. On the other hand, the imaginary popcorn is not only free but has no calories.

The theater is also used for rodeos, the circus, and horse races. The rodeo is a bit rough on us stuffed animals, especially when we have to ride the bucking bull. Michael always plays the part of the bull, but the horses can be Michael and/or Horst Horse. I think Michael's dad came up with that name. Michael calls him Horse Horse.

The Amazing Disappearing Bear Trick

When Michael and I were away on vacation with his mom and dad, Michael found out he could do an amazing magic trick. He puts me under a pillow, says some magic words, checks back a few minutes later and I've disappeared! Thank goodness he always brings me back. Although he's the magician, I'm not sure even he knows how the trick works. Of course, I'll never tell.
