I learned the skill of papier machie when I was 10 years old in school.
We make plates and masks. I remember making a mask of a pirate with
one eye patch and scar on his face. As a kid, I read too much adventure
stories such as Treasure Islands ha..ha....

The word papier machie is from the french word "papier Mach" meaning chewed paper.
Here is a brief explanation on how to make papier machie.
First, paper is soaked in hot water till it is soft.
It is then pounded and mixed with an adhesive solution to be a pulp.
The pulp then shaped over mould and allowed to dry before being painted.
Finally, varnish is applied to the finished product to give it a shiny and smooth surface.

Recently I got into the mood to walk down the memory lane and got my hands dirty to create three masterpieces.
Any idea what they will become after finishing touch? Make a guess before scrolling down to see the final result.

Tra..la... Here is my first masterpiece...... a caterpillar watches hanger!!!!
I like watches and owned more than my hands can wear. Therefore I need a proper place to put them. So this initiated the idea of this masterpiece.

Tra..la... Here is my second masterpiece...... See the little head that sit on top of the monitor?

It is Dilbert! A couple of colleagues found him cute and made me bleaming with pride. But one colleague thought he is Bart Simpson's father and broke my heart...

Tra..la... Here is my third masterpiece...... in the hands of my smiling nephew and niece, the fans of Pokemon cartoons. Their favourite Pokemon is Pikachu, of course.
