1-2-3 Years...

The Second Year

Chapter Five

Abbie wasn't really a smoker. Yes, she smoked but she only smoked with Jena. It was almost like an exclusive thing that she shared with her lover, just like kisses and touches. But ever since Jena was missing, she had been smoking like a fiend in a desperate attempt to elude her body into believing that Jena was near. She had to do that. Because even the thought of something happening to her family and the possibility that she might not ever see them was physically weakening her from inside. And in taking constant flow of the poisonous nicotine inside her lungs was the only way she was being able to keep herself calm as she once again re read Gina's evidence report for the thousandth time.

"You keep smoking like that and it'll certainly kill you for sure." Olivia warned seeing that Abbie had lighted another immediately after she put out one.

"The sooner the better." Abbie said disregarding the detective's concern. "Did you see these circles that Gina made on Jen's financial transactions?"

The bank statement she was holding was nothing new. Even though she had threatened Ron, he hadn't given in, at least not at that very moment. So, they had come back with basically nothing more than what they already had. Yet, they had decided to come to Olivia's place and comb through whatever they had. And that was what they were doing in Olivia's living room couch with papers scattered all around.

"Yes, I noticed them. She circled most of her large deposits.  If I was looking for drug money, and I see this kind of bank statement, even I would get suspicious." Olivia answered truthfully.

"May be but you would have to dig deeper. And if she had done so, she would see that she got those deposits as a return from her investments in Jaq's projects."

"Like I said when G fixates on one person she only sees what she wants to see, and then she stops." Olivia once again profiled the FBI Agent they both held responsible for everything. "Anyway, you really don't think that Ron will give us the details about the arrest warrant?" Olivia asked instead.

"I don't know. There is a good chance that he will. After all I threatened him with a law suit if he didn't."

"What good is that going to do? Like Alex said civil-unions are not recognized NY State or City." Olivia pointed out feeling frustrated at their helplessness to do nothing at that point.

"It doesn't matter. The whole idea is that, if I take this thing to court, then Ron has to take a stand on either side. He can't just play neutral. And the key to being an aspiring politician right now is to have no stand at all. Because you never know what the political climate would be like tomorrow. And think about it, if he is against gay partnership rights on this case, and supposedly tomorrow, they pass a law legalizing gay marriage. Then when he runs for office, everyone will boo him for his involvement. The safest way for him is to, not make this a public issue and just let us have what we want." Abbie detailed the game she had played with her replacement earlier in the evening.

"I just hope he gets scared enough and gives us the detail. The more they hide it the more I have a feeling that we will know exactly who it is when we know about it. And then finding Jen and Eve would be no problem at all."

Olivia closed the file she was reading finding nothing new. Abbie closed her file too. It was of no use. She had re read them so many times, by now she could recite it word by word. She put out her smoke and for the first time didn't light another. "So, what happened with Alex and you?" She asked changing the subject as a distraction.

"We hit a wall." Olivia said messaging her neck. "But thats okay. Once this is over, we should be fine. It just is too messy right now to try and fix anything, you know."

"No I don't know." Abbie said. "How are you two going to be fine?"

"We'll be fine. We love each other." That was Olivia's reasoning. She had no idea how she was going to fix things with Alex to have a specific answer for Abbie's inquisition. But she knew that in her heart that they belonged together and they would get past this.

"And that is why you kissed my girlfriend last night?" Abbie stated with no anger or hurt.

To Olivia that was the question that she needed to answer. Yet, she had no answer to it. She had spent the whole night trying to word an explanation or even an excuse but still she had none. So all she could do was avoid the eyes that were transfixed on her just like she had dodged that very question from Alex earlier.

"You would need more than silence to fix things with Alex." Abbie finally said realizing that Olivia wasn't about to give her any answer. "After all she deserves an answer." She added.

"So, do you." Olivia admitted guiltily. "You deserve an explanation too."

"Not from you." Abbie knew better. "You are not the one who owes me explanation."

Abbie turned away from Olivia realizing that once again the topic had landed back to the woman her heart was missing. She fumbled with cigarette pack as pain pumped from her heart. She needed nicotine. She needed her connection to Jena. The smoke stick finally came out of the box and just as she was raising it, her hands were stopped and covered by Olivia's. She took the cigarette from her and put it down on the table as Abbie looked up at the sympathizing eyes.

"And we will find her, and she will explain her stupidity to you." Olivia held her hands firmly as she assured. "She will beg and plead for your forgiveness just as she should."

"I won't forgive her immediately though." Abbie said in hope that making plans about what she would do when Jena was back, would somehow keep the possibility of finding her alive.

"No...don't forgive her." Olivia agreed with Abbie and wrapped her in a hug knowing that her friend was breaking from inside and she needed to be held together. So, she hugged her tightly. She closed her eyes and prayed that nothing awful had happened to the woman and the child that they both loved.

When she opened her them, blue pair of her blonde girlfriend was staring back at her.

"Alex!" She exclaimed breaking the hug. In their emotional moment, she hadn't heard her come in.

"It's funny how every time I decide to walk in on you unexpectedly, I always find you in the arms of another woman." Alex remarked as she watched the duo compose themselves. Trying to push buttons was a part of her job and very big part of her.

Trying to push buttons was a part of her job and very big part of her. Abbie and Olivia both knew that about her and realized that her icy remark wasn't due to the misinterpretation of their hug. So they didn't bother to offer any explanation as they stood up.

"Mr. Sanchez caved in. I came to give Jena's spouse her rights." Alex extended a file to Olivia. "I was coming here to take few of my stuff so I thought I would drop it too." She explained her presence.

Before Olivia could take the file, Abbie took it from Alex and opened it right away. While Olivia and Alex maintained a silent stare on each other.

"You'll see that every one of our evidences point to Jena." Alex said trying to prove that she was the one who was right.

"But they are all circumstantial evidences." Olivia pointed out trying to prove that she was right.

"We had a physical evidence to link Jena to the crimes."

"What physical evidence?"

"A handwriting match." Abbie who had turned to the page where two samples of handwriting were matched said staring at it in disbelief.

"Yes, handwriting match. There was a note that we recovered from the man who was stalking G and me. We used it to compare to Jena's handwriting and the crime lab established that it was a perfect match." Alex presented her star evidence.

"Where did you get Jen's handwriting?" Olivia asked.

To which Abbie handed Olivia the file. The handwriting that Alex had matched to was from the funeral invite that Jena had sent 'not inviting' her.

"When I had seen it the first time, I knew it had seemed familiar but at that time I couldn't place it. But when I came in last night, and I saw this lying in Eve's room. The familiarity hit me." Alex explained her accidental find. "It was the 'i' that made them different. Since she doesn't dot her 'i's but dashes them like a 't'."

But her words were unheard by the duo who were looking at each other knowing exactly who wrote both the notes.

"You two know whose handwriting this is." Alex stated realizing that she was the only one out of the loop as she looked from one to the other. "It is Jena's right?" Seeing the frozen faces in front of her she needed a re confirmation. "Whose is it?" She asked since her first question wasn't answered.

Olivia had gone to every possible place that she could think of. She had started her search first thing in the morning and as the evening threatened to morph to night, her search seemed more and more futile.

"It's 8 o'clock. Know any bars or clubs she likes to go to on Saturday night?" Elliot asked waiting for her partner to come up with their next destination.

"She never really had a particular club that she liked. She always hopped from one to another." Olivia answered trying to re collect as much details as she could. "But there is one place that she used to hang out, that was on the corner of East 34th and 12th Ave."

Elliot put the car on drive the moment he heard the address. Minutes later they were right in front of the place that Olivia wanted to check out. Before Elliot parked, Olivia saw the familiar Jeep Wrangler in the parking lot. She knew that she had found her.

"You wait here." She told her partner. "I don't want to spook her." She explained as she got out of the car.

When she entered the convenient store, just as always Olivia spotted her sitting on the corner and playing lottery.

"Are you winning?" She asked as she approached.

"Hey Liv!" She greeted. "What brings  you here?" She asked surprised to see the detective.

"I don't know. I thought I would play some scratch tickets too." She said sitting right next to her friend. "So, which ticket is the winner?"

"I thought you didn't believe in lotteries."

"Once in a while, I think I can afford to donate a little." She said as she took out a ten dollar bill from her wallet. "Hey Miss." She called out to the clerk. "Give me some tickets $10.00 dollars worth. If possible some winners."

--------------------------

"We got her." After waiting the whole day for Olivia to find her, Gina did not want to wait anymore. "I say we move in a arrest her right now."

"No you won't." Captain Donald Cragen said stepping in.

The moment the 24 hours had lapsed, and because Eve, a child was involved he had bulldogged and made sure that the FBI understood that the case was as much his as it was theirs. And with Olivia, one of his detectives being the only one with key information for searching for their suspect, he had gained an upper hand. That is why the wire tap that Olivia was wearing as she small talked, was from his department, and everyone were in his precinct listening.

"I say what to do in my case." Gina pointed out not happy that too many people were involved.

"With a child have been missing for over 24 hours, it is a SVU's case . And that is my detective in the field out there, who found her. So, I say I have jurisdiction here." The Captain was not going to back down.

"G!" Alex stopped her friend before she crossed her line. Ron the new Federal Prosecutor didn't want to give up his weekend so he had left Alex in charge. Thus Alex had the authority to call the shots over Gina at that moment. And her call was to wait just like her former colleagues. "We need to ensure everyone's safety before we make an arrest. We can wait."

Gina didn't argue as the voices of Olivia making casual conversation continued to play on the background.

--------------

Twenty minutes later, twenty five dollars down, Olivia still was beating around the bush, unable to address the real reason. Not because she hadn't got the opportunity but because of the calmness at which her companion was treating her presence with. That unbothered and uncaring persona that she had never seen before scared her. It scared her because something about her made her a stranger, a stranger that she didn't know.

"How's Abbie?"

---------

"This is it Olivia. She is giving you an opportunity. Take it. Ask her?" Alex instructed even though she knew Olivia couldnt hear her. The fact that one of the best detectives she ever knew was refusing to expedite their investigation was frustrating her enough to loose a little cool.

"Its not that simple." Abbie answered for Olivia. She had been sitting close to the speakers making sure she didn't miss a beat of anything that was being said. "That person is a stranger to her, to me. The person we knew was loving, caring and a big part of our lives. But the calm uncaring person she is talking to right now. We don't know her. That is why Olivia is being precautious."

---------------

"She is not good." Olivia answered after a long thought. This time she decided to at least brush the subject a little. "She hasn't eaten, I think since the Thanksgiving dinner. She is chain smoking, refuses to sleep. Last night even I caught some shut eye but I don't think she did. She looks awful and I am sure she feels awful."

"She shouldn't do that." Was a simple but the first caring response.

"No, she shouldn't Jaq." Olivia saw a glimpse of a friend she once was very fond of and jumped right in to beseech to her emotions. "But who can blame her? She is scared. We all are. You know how it is for us. You used to be a cop too. Everyday we see humanity at its worse. So, when something lands in our doorsteps, we just can not be optimistic. We fear the worst. We are haunted by every case or horrid crime that we labored to prevent but couldn't. And we keep telling ourselves that that is not going to happen this time. But hell with everything we have seen and been through, that just doesn't cut it." Olivia was careful not to accuse Jaq directly in hope that she wouldnt harm Jena and Eve.

Jaq listened but did not react. Instead she bought couple of packs of cigarettes, cashed in her winning tickets and stood up. Olivia stayed put. She wasn't going to follow her out.

"I love you." Jaq said hugging Olivia from behind and whispering in her ears. "And I love Jen. So, tell Abbie I am not a monster. But don't make me one either." She warned and kissed the behind of the detective's head. Just before she pulled away, Olivia grabbed her arms and lingered the hug for couple of extra seconds, before she left.

As soon as she was gone Olivia picked up her phone and speed dialed her precinct.

-------

"Olivia what happened." Cragen asked picking up the phone in one ring on the speaker for everyone to hear.

"Don't follow her. Captain I am telling you, don't follow her." Olivia ordered.

Detective Fin who was in the room too immediately turned and got on the police radio. While Alex sharply looked in Gina's direction so that the FBI agent compiled as well. Gina waited couple of seconds before she too contacted her agents not to follow.

"She is not." The Captain informed once he was sure that his detective's request was followed.

"I have planted a bug on her. Can you see it?" She asked.

Fin switched on a different computer screen and there was blinking light that was moving on a map against the screen.

"We got her. Can we listen to her too?" Cragen asked the later part to Detective Tallulah who was handling the technical part for them. He moved to the speakers and switched it on. When a blast of rock music vibrated through it and he immediately lowered the volume.

"We can listen to her too. Good work Olivia." The Captain informed his detective.

"But we still don't know that she has Jena and Eve." Gina whose theory about Jena had been proved wrong wasn't really buying that Jena and Eve's disappearance and their case were connected.

"No, she has them." Olivia's voice answered from the phone. "Before she left she told me she loves Jen and not to make her a monster."

"That's a warning. She is warning us." Abbie reacted getting more scared.

"We didn't hear her say that?" Gina pointed out skeptically.

"Because she whispered it in my ears." Olivia answered.

"She figured it out." Fin concluded.

"The moment she saw Olivia she must have known. That's why she baited Olivia to confront her. What is she doing now?" Abbie whose brains were branching into thousand scenarios asked.

"She is just driving." Fin answered.

Abbie moved from where she was listening to Olivia and came and sat right next to Detective Tallulah.

"If she knows that we know then she'll go right to where Jena and Eve is. We have to follow her." Gina didn't like the idea that their suspect was driving around freely regardless of the electronic trace they had on her.

"No we don't." Olivia said walking into the room. Followed by her partner. "She warned us not to make her a monster. So, if she knows we are following her, I don't know what she'll do. So, I don't want to take any chances. We'll know where she'll go from the bug. And after we are sure, we'll send in units."

"And all of a sudden you are calling shots on a Federal Case." The Captain could do whatever he wanted with his unit and his detectives, but the Federal Agents were still under Gina.

"G!" Alex approached her friend not willing to have a tug of war on who was in charge. "It sounds like a good plan to me right now." She insisted glaring at the Agent. "Let's see where she goes."

"Okay we won't follow her in her vision range but at least we can be about 10 minutes behind her?" Gina offered finding a middle ground.

"That's a good idea." Captain Cragen agreed with the Agent for the first time.

"I am gonna do it myself." She said handing her walkie-talkie to a junior Agent.

"You let me know where she is headed." She told Alex before she left.

Olivia walked away from them and to Abbie. At that moment she was more concerned about her friend who just as she had told Jaq was truly not holding up good.

"You okay?" She asked sitting right next to her.

"Jaq loves Eve. She is not going to hurt her." Abbie expressed her hope. "She won't hurt her, right?"

Olivia wanted to give an affirmative answer. But what prevented her was the unfeeling and composed face of her friend which had scared even her. So, she didn't answer.

"No, she won't hurt her." Abbie confirmed her own belief.

Olivia held the weakened woman from the side as she watched the screen that her fellow detective was monitoring.

"Where is she headed?" She asked.

"She is on BQE. Fin traced the path Jaq's jeep was heading.

"She is going to the Ray's studio." Olivia eyed the screen carefully to make sure that her assessment was right.

"Where is that?" Elliot asked.

"It's in Queens. Its exact address is ..." Olivia rubbed her head trying to remember.

"144 Meadow Brooke Dr." Abbie remembered. "It's very isolated. There no other houses for almost ten miles."

"Inform Agent Ramsey of the address." Alex told Agent Brody who was in charge of the walkie-talkie.

"Jaq is already there."  Fin informed watching the spot in the screen stop.

"Sound." Abbie requested and Fin increased the volume.

The rock music had stopped and they heard the constant beeping that the car gives when the door is open and the key is still in ignition. When the beeping stopped they heard the closing of the car door.

"Where is Agent Ramsey, Agent Brody?" Alex impatiently asked the junior Agent.

"We have a 20 on her and we are surrounding the perimeter." Gina answered from the walkie-talkie.

"Keep the line open." Alex instructed to both the Agents.

"I have set up audio here. We can hear them too." Gina informed.

"That is good. But don't make any move without my specific orders." Alex warned.

----------------------------

"Evie." Jaq's voice called the moment the sound of door opening was heard.

---------------------------

Abbie squeezed on Olivia's hand a little harder hearing her daughter's name.

---------------------------

"Jaq is here....Jaq is here." Eve's excited scream grew louder and louder.

"Eve, don't run down the stairs. You'll fall." Jena's voice warned.

---------------------------

"They are all right." Abbie smiled and looked at Olivia who smiled back sharing her joy.

---------------------------

"Did you get my movie?" Eve asked.

"Yes I did." Jaq said. "So, what did you guys do the whole day?"

"Mom made me help her cook. We cooked and we baked and we cooked more. She made three cakes." Eve answered.

"Then you deserve a break. Here take the movie and go and watch it in your room." Jaq instructed.

--------------------------

"They are in it together." Gina concluded. She didn't care that she was heard by everyone. "They were not kidnapped. They ran away." Gina was feeling a little up knowing that she was right all along.

"If Jen is cooking whole day, she is upset." Olivia said with gritted teeth.

"She is not just upset she is frustrated. She cooks non stop when she is dead locked in her head." Abbie knew her girlfriend as well as Olivia to defend her.

Alex watched silently at the two women bonded by their shared pain. She wanted to be there too. She wanted to be the one being the strength for Abbie and support to Olivia. But unfortunately there was couple of feet in physical distance and miles in their hearts that kept her afar. Her only solution at that moment was to try and stay neutral even though it was clear that she had already chosen her side.

--------------------------

"I figured you would want to cook, that's why I stocked up the kitchen." Jaq said.

"Where is Eve?" Jena's voice was neither courteous nor polite.

"I sent her upstairs to watch the movie."

"You shouldn't have done that. B doesn't like it when she watches movie this late."

"Don't you think you should stop pretending that you are going to see Abbie again?"

 ------------------------

Olivia made sure she didn't let go of Abbie's hand as she heard the remark that she knew murdered a part of her friend.

 ------------------------

"This was your choice remember that." Jaq continued. "I gave you a choice between Abbie and Eve. And you chose Eve. So, don't make yourself more miserable by talking about her."

-----------------------

Gina's eyes widened as she listened with added interest.

 -----------------------

There was no answer from Jena.

"Damn it Jen don't you fucking understand what kind of shit I am in. I am doing this to save you and to save Eve." Jaq screamed.

Silence persisted from Jena's side.

"Liv came to see me today. I was right; they already figured it that it was not you, but me." Jaq continued. "How long do you think it'll take the fucking mob to figure the same shit? Take my words not long. And when they can't find me, who do you think they'll look for? Yes, you and Eve. Thats why you both had to disappear with me." Jaq explained her reasons.

"Only if we could have told B. I am sure she could have got us some protection." Jena was still hoping.

 -------------------------

Gina shook her head thinking that Jena was typical lesbian, only thinking about her lover; another one to confirm her belief.

 ------------------------

"NO." Jaq yelled. "No, Abbie. I told you, you could stay with Abbie if you were in so fucking in love with her. And I would take Eve to safety. You said you couldn't live without Eve. You chose Eve. You chose to leave Abbie so don't you fucking keep haunting me with her name and make me feel guilty here. I am doing this for you." Jaq's temper was apparent even in voice.

"Okay you are right." Jena said conceding just to calm Jaq.

 --------------------------

"Jaq is going out of control." Gina sympathetically said. For the first time she actually cared about Jena. "We can see some movement from here but we don't see any weapon. My unit is at a stand by. We can have them move in." Her voice was soft and she was actually asking the permission.

The Captain and everyone waited for Olivia or Abbie to make the call. With their personal connection, everyone believed that they had a right of say.

"Move in." Olivia made the call agreeing with Gina.

"Move in." Gina's voice from the walkie-talkie repeated.

Two seconds later a huge explosion was heard. The entire room was shocked.

"What happened?" The Captain was the first to ask jumping at the junior Agent and snatching the walkie-talkie from him.

 -------------------------

"What's was that?" They heard Jena's panicked voice ask at the same time.

"Mommy..." Eve's distant but scared voice screamed.

"Nothing sweetie, you just watch the movie." Jaq screamed back.

 -------------------------

"The perimeter is rigged. We are falling back." Agent Gina informed.

-------------------------

"They are here." Jaqs voice was saying from the speakers.

"Who?" Jena asked.

"I told you Olivia figured it out."

"If they are here then..."

"Then nothing. They can't come in. I have rigged the whole place. That was the first trigger. Second will blow up the cabin." Jaq told Jena. "Did you hear me Abbie, the second trigger will blow the cabin. So, if you want your girlfriend and daughter alive, you better stop those goons from coming in."

 ------------------------

Everyone in the room was taken a back. They hadn't even guessed that Jaq knew that she was bugged.

 ------------------------

"Who are you talking to?" Jena's scared and confused voice asked.

"To the bug that your ex planted on me. She thought I didn't notice." Jaq answered angrily. "And I was going to give everyone their peace too. By pretending that I didn't know and I was bugged I was going to fucking give confessions for everyone that is listening. But no they had to go and fuck it up by sending in the unit. They think that I am that stupid that if I keep hostages, I wouldn't be prepared."

"What do you mean by hostages? We are not your hostages. You want to save us, remember." Jena voice for the first time had fear in them.

"If I am gonna die sweetheart so are you." Jaq's answer was simple.

"Okay I can die with you. But not Eve. Let her go. She is just a child." Jena begged. "B will take care of her. But at least she'll have a life. Don't take that away from her. Please, Jaq I know you are getting desperate here. And you want to end this all but let Eve go."

"I can't." Jaq voice had tears in them. "Don't you see. They'll kill her too. And they'll torture her. I know, because I did it for them. Thats what I did. I killed and tortured and I raped and murdered. Thats who I was. Don't you hate me now?"

 ----------------------------

They could hear sobbing from Jaq as the room rooted for Jena to be to say something to reach her emotionally. That was the key, to keep talking when someone was suicidal. And they all hoped that Jena would do that.

"I always wanted to get out though." Jaq continued even though Jena hadn't responded. "But then I got deeper and deeper in it. And money was good. So, I reached a point when I didn't want to get out anymore. Then I see G. You know the love of my life that I can't freaking yank out of my head." Jaq was giving the confession she had promised. "You listening G?" She asked making sure her bug was working. "I still love you babe. Anyway, I saw her, but that meant nothing. She wasn't my mark. You know who my mark was?"

"Alex." Jena answered this time.

"Bingo. Yep, and I had got her too. I had my guy pointing the barrel right on her head. But that guy was a little bit of a dramatic kind. Before he shoots her, he tells her to make a last wish. And guess what her last wish is?"

--------------------------

"Tell Olivia I love her." Alex repeated her own words in unison with Jaq's voice.

Olivia looked back. In that split moment love once again surfaced as they allowed their eyes to stay on each other.

 --------------------------

"The moment I heard Olivia's name. I told the guy to miss. And he missed. I made the decision then and there. I had to quit. It was time for me to quit. I can't be making hits on my friend's girlfriend. So, I killed my whole team. I worked with them for over 6 years and I killed them all. But that wasn't going to end there. I had to kill everyone who knew me. So, I came back and paid my debt to the society. I killed every scumbag that ever hired me. That is half the mob in the north east sweetheart. So, you can see why I have so many enemies right now. I was safe till they didn't know who I was. But of course G had to go and figure it out. Now, I could have killed her like I killed Monahan, but I didn't want to kill G. So, I thought I would throw her off. And where does she land. On you. She thought it was you. Hell, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I realized that in the dinner. But what can I say. Got to take what I get."

"What do you mean by that?"

"They are here honey....how long do you think it'll take for their team to figure out how to disarm my triggers. I aint no explosive expert, its kids game for them."

 ------------------------------

They could hear Jaq moving around as she spoke.

 ------------------------------

"Jaq what are you doing with the gun?" Jenas voice was soft and far.

 -----------------------------

Abbie panicked along with everyone else. They all held their breath unable to come up with a solution.

"Gina, what is the status on the triggers?" Alex was on the walkie-talkie getting impatient.

"I don't think there is any." Gina's answer echoed in the room.

"No, Jaq said the second trigger would blow up the house. Find it." Alex insisted.

"There is no other trigger. I think she is bluffing Alex."

"No, Jaq is not bluffing." Olivia stood up and walked to Alex.

 -------------------------------

"To make sure that they don't get to us." Jaq's answer came after a long pause.

"You are going to kill me? Kill Eve? Kill yourself?" Jena asked.

 --------------------------------

The room once again fell silent and listened.

---------------------------------

"Believe me it'll be sweeter than what they'll do to us. I cant allow them to catch us."

"Jaq, I love you. We have been friends for so long."

"That is why I have to do this."

 ---------------------------------

"She can't kill them." Abbie prayed aloud.

"She won't." Fin who was the closest to their former boss assured.

"Let them move in." Alex decided.

"They can't." Olivia still disagreed.

"G said there is no trigger. If they move in, there is a chance, they can save them. Otherwise Jaq is planning to kill them all."

"May be Jen can talk her out of it."

"Jena is not doing much of talking right now."

Olivia did not reply to that. But Alex waited for Olivia's sake, hoping that she was right.

 ----------------------------------

"Jen say something." Even Jaq pleaded for her friend to talk.

"You have a gun in my head. What do you want me to say?" Jena voice was mixed with anger and tears at the same time.

"I don't want to kill you. But this is the only way. I want you to understand that."

"Why so that you can get your peace? No. I don't understand. Actually I hate you for it."

 ------------------------------------

"No...no." Elliot reacted unable to believe how Jena was reacting. "You don't say that to the person who is about to kill you." His both hands was in his head pulling his hair as he hoped that there was some way they could instruct Jena to what to say. "Doesn't she realize that is going to just push her more?"

"She is not a cop." Abbie explained. "That is how she is."

"If she is hurting, she just wants to hurt the other person more." Olivia finished.

And that was exactly what was happening. They could hear in Jaq's sob that her hurt was pushing her more to the edge.

"G! Tell them to move in." Alex ordered. That was the only way she figured she could save them.

"No, don't." Abbie stood up too.

Alex looked from Abbie to Olivia. Even though she truly had not wanted to, but once again she was facing against them. But someone had to make a decision. And she didn't care if they didn't agree with her, because at least at that moment they had the same goal. That was to save Jena and Eve.

"What do you want me to do Alex?" Gina asked. She had heard Abbie's protest.

---------------------------

"You don't understand that I have no choice right now." Jaq saying in the background.

 ------------------------------

"Are you sure you can't find the trigger?" Alex asked once again.

"Jaq is not bluffing." Abbie insisted not liking how Alex was thinking.

"You have to understand Jen please. I am making it easy for all of us." Jaq was doing her own pleading.

"No, I don't. You can let us go." Jena was being stubborn.

"They'll get to you. I can't let that happen. I am sorry." Jaq sobbed louder as she apologized.

 -------------------------------

"G mov..."

"Alex no." Olivia cut her words. "Jaq is not bluffing. If you can't find the trigger don't move in."

"I have an explosive expert who disagrees, Liv. We found few more C4's around the property but there are no more explosives that can be detonated by a trigger." Gina argued her side.

"Trust me Alex." Olivia pleaded. Please Alex you need to trust me here. I know Jaq. She is not the kind to bluff.

------------------------------

"I am sorry Abbie. I am sorry Liv." Jaq was apologizing to everyone she could think of. "I am sorry Ray."

-----------------------------

Then they heard a little clocking of the gun.

"Move in." Alex made her call disregarding Olivia.

"Move in." They heard Gina repeat.

-----------------------------

"Good bye and good luck." Jaq voice said before a sound loud enough to shake the speakers blasted through them.

 --------------------------------

"Move out."

"It exploded."

"Move out....Fall back"

Walkie-talkie scrambled with chaotic shouts from numerous Agents, as the sounds from the bug went silent except for the static.

"Damn it there was a trigger." Elliot hit the wall.

Fin switched the speakers off letting only the chaos of the walkie-talkie to reverberate in the room.

"Agent Ramsey please report on the status." Captain Cragen said taking the walkie-talkie once more. "What the hell happened?" He barked.

"It exploded. The whole house exploded." Gina screamed back between screaming orders to her squad.

"That can't be." Alex was cowering over next to the Captain. "You said there was no second trigger." Alex yelled as though her repetition would change what happened. "You said..."

"Abbie..." Olivia screamed from behind.

The men and Alex who were all concentrated on the noisy plastic box immediately looked back. Olivia was on the ground holding a seemingly lifeless body of the southern belle.

"I'll get the ambulance." Fin said speeding out.

"Oh my God! Abbie." Alex exclaimed scooting beside Olivia.

"Don't even dare." Olivia snapped. "You killed them."
